I have just received details from Roy Dennis on BLUE MR who was sighted at Loch of Kinnordy last week.
QUOTE...
Darren has sent me some photos he took this morning @ Loch of Kinnordy of Yellow or it could be White JU. This bird has been sighted at Loch of Kinnordy In 2015 and 2016.
Only info we know at the moment is the ring was sent to a ringer in Argyll ten years ago.
Will post if any more information is received from ROY.
Fantastic! Thank you mARY and DARREN
Thanks Mary and Darren.
My bet is on White JU, already spotted at Loch of Kinnordy. I confirm information from Mary: I'm aware that the ring is from a batch handed in 2007 by Roy Dennis to a ringer in Argyll.
Sightings at Loch of Kinnordy are frequent but not very close to hides, this adds value to these excellent pictures.
Thank You Roberto. you are correct regarding these photos of Darren's as even with binoculars it's not possible to read the ring numbers at certain times, so his photos are of real value, wish he was around at some of the other Nests when they have intruders :-)
Thank you Mary & Darren for the wonderful pics!

Darren just sent me these two fab photos taken at Morton Lochs yesterday.
Whether they are a Scottish Crossbill or just a Crossbill we don't know. So any Crossbill experts out there who can tell us which one we would be delighted to know. :-)
Wow I've never seen one of these, what a treat.
Great pictures Mary/Darren
Birdies LG DU update.
I suspect that they're actually Common Crossbills at Morton Lochs although I can't obviously be 100% sure about this; their range is reported down as far as Dundee so I don't suppose it would be too much of a stretch to find them over the other side of the Tay. Apparently the most 'certain' way to help separate the different types is by their call (see here).I’ve also added a shot of a female Crossbill (just because she’s so pretty), also taken at Morton Lochs. :-)
