HAPPY NEW WEEK!
I thought I would begin the new thread by honoring Margo, who passed on this past week. She was a much-loved member of our community, and she will be missed. Comfort and solace to Chris, her OH. Billie, Margo's beloved cat, was such a joy in her life, I thought these two happy kittens cuddled in the shape of a heart might be appropriate.

Good morning everyone
My brother arrived safely but was very tired. I'll definitely pull rank and book him in to a travel lodge or similar when he leaves here.
LINDY - You only have two days to complete the shoe packing! We shall miss you but hope that you have a lovely time.
WENDY- you certainly have been unlucky, do take care. Regarding hospital in Elgin, my youngest had her second baby there and couldn't speak highly enough of it.
LIMPY- get well soon x
I can hear my brother having his morning cough so had better put the kettle on
Heather - Good that your bro has arrived OK. Hope you can relax together and have some reminiscences, too.
A sunny morning(!) so I found five minutes to get into the garden, check over the bird feeders and plant out some hyacinths which had bloomed on my windowsill just after New Year.
I've also found some stock cubes and herbs to put into my packing, as we are staying in a self catering apartment, although we do treat ourselves to a restaurant meal now & then.
Just off to count my shoes!
EE, thank you for your update and the positive news of OG. It must be quite a relief to have spent a few hours out of her bed. I hope OG's recovery continues, and that she soon gets to her local hospital.

I just wanted to say "thank you" for all your kind thoughts on the passing of my OH ... they are very much appreciated. It is his funeral on Wednesday. I have plenty of people around me for support ... sometimes I wish they would give me a 'bit of space' ... but perhaps I'm being a bit ungrateful!
Thank you also to Diane for the lovely card she put on for Heather and myself.
Thinking also of Chris, Margo's husband.
Joan - avid bird and nature watcher in Northumberland!

Hello Joan. I will be thinking of you on Wednesday. It will be a difficult day for you, but it is good to know you will have folk around you willing and able to give you love and support.
Good evening, all. After all the illness in the household last week we're now settling down again - and I'm finally managing to go through the photos I took at Minsmere on the 12th!!
Nice to see you here, Joan, though I wish the circumstances were better. We'll be thinking about you on Wednesday - and afterwards.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
I'll be thinking of you, too, Joan. I know what you mean, sometimes you just need some time to yourself - but people mean well.
Clare - You don't say how Limpy is doing, I hope he is recovering.
I hope we get news of OG being transferred to the other hospital, soon.

Clare - Tell him I'll come around there and sock him so hard he'll sleep without trouble, if he doesn't get himself into sleep mode!!
I've been very restrained with packing my shoes..... 1 pair beach clogs, 1 pair sandals, 2 pairs Skechers light walking shoes, and one pair of sensible walking shoes, which I'll be wearing on my feet on the journey! No "evening sandals" as its very informal there, no one dresses up much although I do take a couple of blouses which I don't wear in the daytime, to go out in when we venture out at night. Its much colder in the evenings than later in the year, however warm its been during the day, so a couple of warm cover ups are a must, too. I bought a large scarf which can be buttoned up and doubles as a sort of cardigan, or can be worn as a warm cape or as a stole. My OH has appeared with three very large, thick paperback books which he wants to take -- I can't persuade him into having a Kindle < sigh >
