HAPPY NEW WEEK!

Hello to everyone, and I hope you all have a good week.

I thought I would begin the week by honouring Brenda. She was a wise and truly kind person, and she will be missed.

  • Good Morning, Everyone.  I'm looking out of the window from my bed, and can see a pretty pink sky with the curved moon hanging above it.

Clare - You're really fired up over taking your winter pictures. Loved the sunsets!

Just off to read an article about the sentences being raised for some criminal offences, amongst them animal cruelty.

  • Heather - See you posted when I did:  We laughed about it!  My OH is alright, although he looked somewhat surprised at the time! We only have the heating on at night if it's minus 7 or below! It comes on at 6.30am but when it's this cold it takes a hour to warm the house up.

    Enjoy your lunch out.

Hope OG has had a better night. Thinking of dear Margo - she did email me, and has been unable to go out due to it being too cold where they are.

  • Clare - lovely misty, moody sunset pictures.  Thank you.  Keep snapping!

The fog seems to have disappeared this morning, leaving a pink and blue striped sky.  It may be 'shepherd's warning', but it's very pretty.  Another heavy frost, though.  I keep thinking of Shelley's words - 'If winter comes, can spring be far behind?'  Hope it's not too far behind ...!  Why is it that January always seems to be so much longer than any other month?

  • LINDY- No, heating is not on overnight here except when it is really cold. I just decided to switch it off after I'd eaten and unashamed to say that I went up to bedroom at 7 pm. To read, watch TV, talk on phone, use Kindle to check internet etc. All the activities that the 'experts' say are ill advised. I love the bedroom, always have done since I was a child and can't get my head around just using it as a sleeping room, only.

It has always been a bit of a sanctuary, I suppose. My granddaughter in Elgin shows every sign of taking after me. She loves to read and can't get to bed soon enough.
  • Realised that I'd forgotten to post a pic this morning - came back, and found I couldn't post anything.....

  • Heather: I love my bed, too.  I'd spend all day in there, being waited on with food, if I could!

Today's pic:  (lets see if I can post, now....)

      - a pic of mine, taken in the garden June 2013.

  • Sometimes after I have been signed out and have then signed back in, I can't post at the first attempt.

    Beautiful pic, LINDY !
  • Thanks.  This rose means a lot to me, as it was bought for me by my OH's dear sister, who passed away 21 years ago, aged only 51.  She was beautiful, both inside and out. We still talk about her often.  Her two lovely, talented daughters now have two children each, who she never saw.

  • Here is a picture I meant to put at the end of my long (sorry!) description of our holiday.  Its a small souvenir I bought for myself: a replica of a bronze horse from the ancient times.

  • LINDY   So sad about your OHs lovely sister, and a lovely rose too. Like your horse.

HEATHER   Yes Mum is still in St Johns hospital. We should get more news later this afternoon

Just back from a 2 hour dental appt after the start of my implant treatment. Goodness knows how many jabs so still numb and no doubt will be sore for a few days.
