Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

I got very excited when I read this - and then I checked the Devon Birds website. It could very well be a pale buzzard.
Thank you for the link Clare. The same thought had crossed my mind as it seemed so unlikely at this time of the year.
It is amazing how varied the markings are on buzzards. No wonder they are often mistaken for osprey!
