Our starlings have been bathing on our front garden! I feel cold just watching them.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
CLAIRE - have you given up your job? You seem to be out and about every day!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
They got rid of me at the beginning of August. I must confess to an extreme reluctance to be stuck in an office ever again........so I'm working on my photography.
Sorry - or not by the sound of it! Maybe something more appealing will turn up.
Builder eventually came at 4:45 - not to do anything, but to check sand left here before was not frozen (now in our garage) and to deliver more blocks and pavers. "Definitely" starting tomorrow (I did resort to telling his office clerk that I was contemplating suicide as an alternative to waiting, now the steeper steps have became more painful!)

I went to Landguard Point earlier today - my photos are here but I should mention this thread has a sad ending. And yes, my finger still hurts - but I think the effort was worthwhile.
I'm sure you did the right thing, Clare. It would have been far worse for the bird to die slowly and painfully on the beach. It probably wouldn't have been able to feed itself in that condition. I agree - the effort was definitely worthwhile. Hope the finger heals quickly.
to prove me wrong, OH decided to take down the lights so all put away till next year. Let's hope they won't be too tangled.
Lindy - just seen about your email from Margo - do hope that she will pick up again soon.

Margo - so lovely to hear from you and your update. Do hope that you will start to feel a lot better soon. Thoughts are with you and your OH in the magnificent job of supporting you. Yes, the NHS come up trumps most of the time. They are just so overworked particularly in our A&E deps.
Take care Margo and God Bless.
