Thrilled to see you are getting so much support and equipment, Heather. I can understand why you were so emotional, after the worry and trauma you have both been going through. {{ BIG HUGS }} X
Thanks BRENDA! Hugs gratefully received :-)
Good news Heather and nice to read some positive news about our health service since today its been nothing but doom.
Yes, HARELADY. It isn't all gloom and doom. I do think though, just from personal experience, that many busy GP surgeries are struggling to provide a prompt service. I won't speculate about possible reasons. I phoned district nurses directly and had no problem at all in obtaining a next day visit. The nurse was even happy to come the same day if I wanted her to. The GP surgery receptionist waffled - speak to this person, refer to that person etc etc. I am an impatient soul :-))
Our local facilities of the NHS are wonderful, and the staff are all very helpful. We are lucky here in our town as we have two excellent GPs surgeries where we get good service on all counts. My OH went to have his ears syringed the other day, and the nurse couldn't have been kinder. The GPS are happy to explain things in detail if needs be.
I've been playing with the new stereo: it's been ridiculously easy to start up. I was a little apprehensive as the instruction book looked huge, but on examination there were only about six pages at the front in English, followed by 150 pages in about 20 other languages! I'm just relieved that it didn't say "log onto our site on the Internet" as it does sometimes when you get something new.
All I had to do was plug it in, switch on the "On" switch, and use the remote control to choose which radio station we wanted. It stores your favourite 6 stations, so that will be great. After that, we tried the CD player, which is easy. You might gather that I'm very pleased!
The proud Great-Grandad with Miriam (three weeks old).
LYNETTE - no, not a new Grandchild (youngest Granddaughter is sixteen and three quarters) - this is our first Great-Grandchild - daughter of eldest Grandson!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
One more before I get totally boring:
OG she is beautiful!!
Adorable :-) xx
