HAPPY NEW WEEK!
Everyone have a great week!
Was that on TV, Dibnlib? ~ I seem to remember seeing something like that not long ago, and yes, it was great. Fascinating to hear the 'real' story behind some of the rumours about the breakup.
Sorry your Mum is in hospital, but it sounds as if they're being cautious and there may not be a lot wrong: it could be just a slight infection.
Annette: Same happened to us yesterday, when our Eldest rang but said he had pressed the wrong button on his phone! at least it was at a decent evening hour.....
I love Christmas, and as you can all imagine, over the years I have gone overboard with decorations. However, it became a chore in the end and took so long to put up and take down that I have at least simplified it to putting a lot of greenery (fake) and berries around the pictures and sitting some beloved ornaments around which appear every year. The Tree, however, is a job in itself as we both love to have a big one and it takes two days to erect it, put on the lights, and decorate it! Then the same to take it all down again..... Last year we didn't have it up because of a certain small dog who would probably have decimated it, but we've decided to try and put it up again this year, without ornaments at first, to see what happens.
Heather, I would have thought that once your OH's ear liquid is removed, that it should help his balance problems. Sorry they can't help with his hearing. I do feel sorry for him. X
Linda, Enjoy your last 2016 visit to Wales.
Dibnlib, Good to see that your Mum is being cared for so well. Believe your brother and don't worry.
Annette, Some time ago, my son woke me at 2am with a face time call, by mistake. After apologising, he couldn't stop laughing as my head was peeping out of the duvet.
Also thinking of Diane.
Margo had her transfusion on Tuesday. Her sister is on oxygen permanently now and Margo is spending a good part of the day with her.
Thanks to all for news and encouragement. OH is really down this evening, I think that he had hoped for better news today. I have been fairly firm with him - you have to be - he is not a brave soldier! His son will be home on Saturday and will take him out. Other than that, he is housebound.
LINDY not sure about it being on TV, almost nothing was said about the split, only that they had spent an awful lot of time travelling tog and had wearied of it.
Couldn't speak to bro, but he did leave a message saying Mum might be out of hosp this evening.
Heather - Sorry that your OH is down after his visit. Perhaps he was hoping for better news. Hopefully his sons visit will help cheer him up.
Brenda - Thanks for news of Margo. She must be finding it a real struggle to get over to visit her sister every day.
Hi, ALL. Sorry there is so much bad news around, particularly health problems. Special thoughts for MARGO and her sister, HEATHER and her OH, DIBNLIB and her mother, WENDY and her surgery - and especially DIANE, preparing for the drive to Lafayette for Saturday's Memorial gathering. I hope LINDA and her OH will enjoy their weekend in Wales, without further "tummy trouble" for either of them.
I got a call yesterday afternoon to take a cancellation appointment at rheumatology this afternoon, so have had a steroid injection again - previous one didn't last long, but previous ones have been very helpful, so nurse decided it was worth trying this time. She also wants me to take more regular painkillers.
A full day at home tomorrow, hoping to get some trousers shortened, then start the round of Christmas craft fairs at the weekend - shopping for baby gifts.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Also thinking about all my friends on here. Things can only get better and as ANNETTE says, onwards and upwards !
Having heard about Miriam's arrival here, I heard from a new grandfather last night that his new grandson has been named Ezra. I said how lovely that the old Biblical names seemed to be becoming popular again. 'Oh no', he said, 'he's named after a character in some soap opera!' That most definitely told me!!! Ho hum ...
Maybe the soap opera character was named for Ezra in the Bible! We found Ezra, Jeremiah, Hezekiah and other prophets in our family research! Not sure whether Naomi is for Moses' sister in the Bible or a relative of Granddaughter-in-Law!
