HAPPY NEW WEEK and HAPPY NEW MOON!
The new moon (the dark moon) is tomorrow. Everyone have a wonderful week. Hope all my friends here are enjoying the last of autumn (spring for AQ). A very strange day here with record-breaking heat near 80F or 26.6 C. So very weird. We should be getting cold now and having our first snow. Thinking of Margo, Heather's OH, Brenda's daughter-in-law, and all who are facing adversity. Haven't heard from George for awhile. Hope you're okay, George. Also, Rita. And Nairnred (Jenny). And Heron77. And ChrissyB. Also, hi to June, my fellow Midwesterner over on the Gabfest.
DIANE What an amazing sound, eerie yet beautiful.
Hi, Dibnlib. Sorry to hear about your OH. Hope something can be done.
By the way, the Shetland webcam seems to have been having problems lately, with no picture on the best one, the Town Hall cam. :-(
Good morning!
I haven't looked at your videos yet, DIANE, but will do so soon. Thank you for the links.
Glad you are all better,LINDY.
After non stop rain all day yesterday, this morning the sky is bright. I must go to town and to the bank.
Be back later
You're still busy, Heather. Hope your OH is feeling better soon.
Still cloudy here, but have put out some laundry in the hope that the sun will come out eventually.
As I said, we went to see the Ceramic Poppies in Caernarfon Castle whilst we were in Wales. It was certainly impressive.
Here are a few of the many photos I took -
First, you see the scene from a distance, when you arrive:
There were quite a few people, so not easy to capture it without anyone! But I believe it got much busier later on, when the children broke up for half term that week.
Here are a series of some of the rest of the pictures:
This was part of a display within the turrets of the castle; it was an Art Installation which is being held at the moment:
There was also an area where local people had been invited to plant crosses in remembrance of their own lost loved ones from in The Forces: There were so many little crosses, and each one had a name upon it - very moving.
LINDY - Thank you. I would love to have seen that. As you say, very moving. 'Lest we Forget'.
Thanks Heather.
LINDY Wonderful pics of the poppies, quite a sight.
As HEATHER said, it rained non stop yesterday, so Benson wasn't playing " walks" though I offered 3 times. This morning was beautiful so we went off to the canal again. Glad we did as it is now raining again.
I have to go out again shortly for an appt, and unlike Benson I won't be putting the brakes on. OH did suggest that if I had put his new waterproof coat on yesterday he might have come for a walk, though I doubt it. I only bought the coat as it is a snuggly one and not because it is waterproof.
