Hallo all. Off to eat pizza and drink wine. Back later.
PAT - I am sure there are some wet weather activities around Torquay, but have only been there twice myself so don't have any suggestions. However, I hope you get some bowling weather in between. My Auntie used to enjoy her annual bowls outings to various places along the south coast (now 98, and in a care home).
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Just sliced more beans to freeze; OH is moving plant containers back into position on the deck - weeding and dead-heading as he goes. Think I might return to card-making for a while.
Hello everyone
While I appreciate this is a general topic thread, please remember that not all of our forum users want to see general political discussions here.
Simon
Hello, Simon. You're new!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Nice very early lunch at Tiso. Should be walking with a friend in a wee while. She has to take her dog to the vet for 1430 and all being well we will have a walk after that. The rain has stopped so Benson shouldn't have any objection to a walk in the woods.
Hello - We are back home, after rising early today and doing everything in double quick time so as to get home for lunchtime: My OH has lots of produce at the allotment waiting to be picked!
A good journey back with light traffic on the roads and not too many id*¢ts!
You and EE sound as productive as ever, OG. Well done on the greenhouse glass replacement - it's a bit like those childhood puzzles where you have to move one thing, then another, to get at the one you want!
Hello Clare.
Yes, I suppose I am :)
I've been working at the RSPB a few months now and today is the first time I've assisted the existing moderation team.
Threatened rain hasn't arrived, but the atmosphere is so heavy and it feels like it needs to thunder! OH wanted to mow, but I hope rain will come before he starts, as I hate seeing it half done if "Rain stops play"! I reminded him it needs scarifying before mowing, so hopefully that will delay him long enough.
DIBNLIB - hope it stayed dry for Benson to be tempted out on a woodland walk (watch out for ticks) - how is his strained leg?
LINDA - welcome home - and enjoy all the fruit and veg!
Didn't "post" that, but it went!
Good to "meet" you, SIMON. We don't often see the Mods on this thread - on the whole, we are quite a well-behaved bunch!
Now off to prepare dinner veg - having with pies from the Farmers' Market "Pie Man".
OG It would appear to be the base of his back and he is improving, thank you. Friends dog also may have a back problem (she is a corgi mix and does have a long back) and has to have x rays next week. Friend is off to New York 1st week of October. so she will hope to know what the problem is by then. This is a 60th pressie from her daughter, who will be going to NY with her. I asked her what she really wanted to do and her reply was that she was just really looking forward to having 6 days with her daughter. How lovely is that.
