With Thanks to Mikes link to the Farewell BLOG, will set the scene for this Thread.
I have permission to report that Blue FR3 has been seen again today, in The Gambia! The osprey spotting team returned to see whether they could spot Blue FR3 before they head back to the UK on Monday. They wandered and searched and after a while he flew in, landed on a distant tree where he sat for a while before flying off behind the mangrove and out of sight. A little while later they heard alarm calling, and two osprey were visible in the sky, one of which was FR3 who chased the intruder off. Shortly afterwards FR3 returned clutching his lunch, and landed in a tree much closer to them. FR3 stayed eating his meal until the intruder returned, and once more he set off in chase to see it off.
The team were delighted to see him again!

I saw that too Wendy. With her enthusiasm it should be a success!
Good to see her clearly enjoying and totally dedicated to the task.
Birdies LG DU update.
Great to see FR3 and long he may remain safe and return.
We are now into the second week of 2017, but I guess this thread can continue until March? Well here goes anyway!
I have just come across a post he Scottish Wildlife Trust FB page, here. For those who do not have access it says "We're looking for three residential volunteers to monitor the nest and help visitors understand these iconic birds during the 2017 breeding season." Note the word 'volunteers', but what an amazing opportunity to either broaden the CV or have a working holiday in beautiful surroundings!

Thanks Sheila your guess is right ,usually start the new Season thread March time or when any hopeful sightings and countdown clock imminent. CHOL:):)
