June, Thanks so much for posting this news. Hope we have more news of her when she returns to the UK in 2017!
Kind regards, Ann
Another bit of cultural exchange. In addition to following a famous osprey nest, Lock Garten does a lot of natural restoration work. In the USA, we also do restoration work. Here a tract of prairie has been restored, including the recent addition of native Bison.
Indiana is Ohio's neighboring state to the west.

A Southwest Ohio winter, Photos by my ex-minister, Fred Shaw.
Note the Scottish style chimney gable ends to this house. I have never before seen this style here, either pictured or in person. I wonder what the story to this house is.
More snow scenes by Fred Shaw.

This paragraph introduces a video of interest to anyone who loves osprey. However, this link takes you to the Iowa City site. To get the video we want scroll down about 8 o 9 articles. You are looking for this picture:
You may have noticed something new out at Terry Trueblood Recreation Area this fall. What you probably didn't know, is that the osprey platform 40-feet in the air is the Eagle Scout project of Iowa City High School student Max Otaoadese. Learn how MidAmerican Energy Company pitched in to help Max get the Thisplatform up.
Thanks, June--that is good news. The more nest platforms, the better. I wonder if Iowa has many Ospreys.

Good afternoon all. June love the pics and interesting buildings. The shortest day today which means that the days will start getting longer! Doesnt time fly but still have January to get through! I love winter :) No Christmas cake this year as im the only one that eats it :(
This is good news that the osprey population is slowly expanding through another translocation project in Iowa. Rutland put up another platform in Manton Bay and a young couple began nesting (i forget who!) but became disturbed by egyptian geese :( Hope they are sucessful in 2017. I dont know if Rutland has reached saturation point with the osprey population?
