Well folks, its been a disappointing day in the fact that the three bairns will not be named,tagged or ringed but that has come from official lines as I hope all of you have seen and we have to acknowledge the expertise of the powers that be.Nevertheless, there has been a lot of wing exercising and mini flights on the nest during the course of the day. Not many fish were delivered, but hey, they have to get trim so they can fledge properly.
Paul, you will see that I have replied to you on the last of the posts for yesterday.
All at peace and sleeping with the odd plink plonk of what sounds like rain.!!!!!!!

So, one has fledged from LoTL but is currently back in the nest I see.
Can’t be much longer for ‘our’ Eldest at LG – gulp ! and then before we know it it’s August and …………………
My wallpaper is of Mallchie (having fledged) – it says at the top of the pic 16.49 August 25 2009 (so it was a pic from the STILL camera)
EJ is currently giving warning calls but chicks hunkered down anyway in a deep snooze- drat this continued high wind.

Good afternoon Cirrus and I echo Phaazon's words, it has been great to watch this family. Very little sibling rivalry up to now and all healthy and ready to fly nearly. It does not get much better than this. EJ and 3 yongsters all on the nest and being blown about again.
Thanks to all for all the pics. Have only just come back after lunch and now playing catch up once again.

Hi, playing catchup. I endorse the previous 2 posts and particularly what Pharazon said. We are indeed preveleged to see this family grow up , from EJ and Odin first arriving, to the hatching of 3 chicks and all their growing up.
All is peaceful on the nest, EJ is still looking out for Odin, and the wind is still at .
'Lo there Margobird - it just seems so extraordinary that these very high winds could continue for so long - I believe this is the third week ??? Is anyone able to confirm?

Cirrus I think I read that it is most unusual for them to have high winds at this time of the year and certainly not for 3 weeks.

Woah ............... That was Yongest lifting off for so long !!!!!
Did anyone see that, one youngster virtually took off into the air and the wind nearly took it but it landed back on the nest.
I'm back from lunch out, too! Just playing catch up and reading the posts ... I see we've had plenty of practice and a fish ... but no fledge yet :-)
