Good morning Mary. Welcome back. Trying to post a capture on Glaslyn for the last 20mins!"!!!! Whirly wheel!!
Birdies LG DU update.
Good Morning Mike
I managed to post on Glaslyn so I wonder why you can't. Keep trying Mike, maybe close it down then start again. It is such a pain when that happens.
That's just what I had to do Mary. Now posted.
Sometimes it always easier to start back from the beginning again LOL.... Mike
As you know I visited Loch of the Lowes last week, I had hoped for a bit more action on the nest, but there only ever was one Juvie on the nest, and another in the Silver Birch tree along with Lassie, all the action was in the air, when Lassie had to chase off an intruder which had come back for the third time.
One of the Juvies did make a fishing attempt by diving into the water, but didn't catch anything, it was too far away sadly to get some photos.
I did a short video of the visit, the photos are not great, but thought I would put it together anyway. One of the assistants in the VC told us that it was a Mandarin Duck on the feeder, I wouldn't have recognised it as I thought they were more colourful, so maybe a juvenile (not sure) :-)
No sign of Laddie when we were there, the assistant in the hide said there had been no sign of him all morning, which surprised her as Lassie was left to deal with the intruders. Although at one point we seen three adult birds high in the sky so maybe one was Laddie, who knows.
Thank you Mary. No wonder they call those young Grebes 'Humbugs'.
