HAPPY NEW WEEK!
Last week's Chat thread is here.
On Monday: HAPPY SOLSTICE and HAPPY FULL MOON!
This will be the first Full Moon to fall on the June Solstice since 1967 -- the Summer of Love! -- according to EarthSky. Other sources say it hasn't happened since 1948.The Slooh Observatory will host an online live streaming special dedicated to the Solstice and Full Moon combination event.Everyone have a wonderful week!
Diane-I'm pretty sure you could survive 122F. We were actually living in Phoenix the day it hit 122F. I even have a t-shirt to prove it! It set a record. I had no air conditioner in my car that summer and had to repeat to myself all the way home from work "I am not hot" "I am not hot"........ needless to say, I got my a/c fixed the following week.
Football on TV now....LOL!
Brenda - Thanks for news of Margo, and all good. Enjoy your new garden bench & cushions! Also hope we get a nice enough summer for you to sit out on it!
bjane - I would have wilted!! I had a hot holiday once in Minorca in July - never again! About 32 degrees my OH says, and 20+ at night. I had to sleep on the balcony with a wet flannel on my head and I couldn't wait to get home!
Dodgy Wi-Fi here - none this a m, not brilliant now. Have read all your posts. Adding my best wishes for AQ and MARGO - and HEATHER's SiL's job. We had quite a wet day, so had to go to Downtown (on edge of Grantham) and spend some money at Garden Centre and Boundary Mill! It's a lovely evening - the Castle looks magnificent bathed in sunlight. We saw a pair of Buzzards from outside restaurant car park, and when we got back to the farm and were looking at the calves, a Barn Owl flew low over the field - glad I am not a Vole! Heard from J this evening - pleased to say he has his same 22 hours a week at the Academy next session.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Sounds like a good day, OG. Glad J has got his job confirmed.
Hello Everyone,
122F is a seriously high temp. Not one I would tolerate well. Glad you are near the coast, Annette.
AQ should be just about to have her op now.Good wishes to her.
Dibnlib, You seem to have lovely places to walk with Benson, and with great refreshment stops on the way.
I played for the bowls club in our Top Ten comp. against another club yesterday. I am definitely not among the top ten, but numbers are falling, as usual players are getting older. They are becoming social members only.
It was a lovely day weather wise. I was glad it wasn't today, as it was raining heavily this morning, and I am a fair weather bowler. County matches carry on regardless, though.
Regards to everyone.
I am so pleased for 'J', OG. Wonderful that you saw the barn owl. Always a beautiful sight to see. It rained here until after 2pm. Not holiday weather !!
{{{HUGS}}} to Margo. I’ve been thinking of you but forgetting to say so.
.
So many people here to thank for good wishes. It is lovely to have so many caring friends. I'll be around a little longer as it’s just gone 8am Tues here, now in fasting mode (bleah), 4 hours until I present myself to hospital, another 2-3 hours after that, I guess until op. I was told originally I was first at 2 pm, but pre-op nurse said, not so. Whatever. I want to press fast forward button. I won’t be posting here until I return home, hopefully by weekend.
Our news has been inundated with EU referundum, Jo Cox murder & US election, but nothing on Annette’s fires. Aussieland does get a lot of overseas news. When I was in UK I was amazed how little DownUnder was mentioned there. We have our own federal election on Jul 2. I completed a postal vote as I don’t know how mobile I shall be by then and the trek across the local schoolyard (polling booth) is lengthy & uneven with gutters & lawned areas.

OG: So wonderful that you saw the barn owl!!! I'm glad you're having a nice time.
bjane: Wowie!!! No wonder you had to tell yourself "I am not hot." That's a dangerous temp. I've braved some wicked blizzards and the cold doesn't bother me, but that heat would render me worthless. :-) Wonderful that you have a tee-shirt to celebrate!
Heather: I am hoping that your son-in-law still has his job. Such a worrisome time for them.
Annette and All: Lots of Brexit talk on my National Public Radio station today.
Lindy: Hope you love your decorating.
Brenda: Thanks for news of Margo. Congrats on the lovely new garden bench.
Margo: You're in my thoughts always.I probably won't be around much for a few days. I have to apply myself to finishing my project. Hi to George, Lynette, Pat O, Keith, Clare, Limpy, Chrisy, dibnlib, WendyB, and everyone.
Thank you Diane
