HAPPY NEW WEEK!!!
Last week's Chat thread is here.
Seems like a lot of folks on this thread have been facing adversity of one kind or another. Sending you all best wishes and good energy.
Have a wonderful week everyone!
Himself doesn't Lindy so it's fatal...
Chocolate bars do the same but less calories as they get smaller and smaller:-(
Wendy - near East Grinstead. Lots of rain and thunder here today - where does it all come from?
I don't buy Cornettos because they come in threes - living alone, I would be forced to eat all three!
Unknown said: Diane, I have just been informed about State flowers. What a nice one for your State.(and Alan's photo) Ohio has two, I am told. The carnation, and white trillium for the wild one. I had no idea about the State reptiles, either. There do seem to be a lot of turtles, types of which I didn't know existed. I gather Ohio has the black racer snake. I am learning quite a lot in my old age, including American history!

Hi Pat - We've had lots of rain here today - it looks as if it's thinking of clearing up, then suddenly it comes down again! (I'm in N. West England - Cheshire)
Off to bed now , Night All.
Greetings, Pat.
Dibnlib, My son went to work in the US for one year five years ago! I haven't heard any other plans since. He lives in Cincinnati.
Enjoy time with daughter Wendy. Where does she live?
I only like ice-cream in really hot weather, which is not now, although I did buy some for G'daughter, and there is some left over which will need to be used up.
I have to ration OH, as he is diabetic.
Hi, all.
I went outdoors earlier and startled a big doe white-tailed deer. She bolted around a tree, making a lot of noise, and startled me! We both stared at each other terror-stricken, and then shifted to a look of "Oh, it's just you." She meandered away. She probably has a fawn around somewhere.
I also picked up three chiggers, which are itching like crazy!
Coincidentally, it's been raining here today, too. A rollicking strong thunderstorm knocked out the power at exactly 11:11 this morning, which I thought was sort of spooky. LOL The energy company had to replace some equipment that had been struck by lightning. More storms tonight.
It's been a sweltering hot three days, with temps near 100 F or 37.7 C at times. I nearly gave myself heat stroke shopping for groceries, supplies, and a push-style lawn mower on Saturday. I needed a lot of stuff.
There wasn't anyone around to help me load the new lawn mower into my car, so I had to do it myself. A nice man (a farmer) about my age offered to help me, but I was stubborn. He said, "You can't lift that!" I replied, "Watch me." I picked up the box, turned it on its side, and lifted it into my back seat. He exclaimed, "Gosh a mighty!"
LOL!
Welcome to Pat O!
OG: Glad your appointment went well, and I hope your eyes remain healthy.Wendy: Enjoy your time with your daughter.Lindy: Congrats on the new footstool. I loved your heron photos.
Annette: Poor, poor bear. I hate to hear that. The peonies aren't wild; they're planted. Many of the homes in my rural area are surrounded with them. They look lovely around the old farmhouses.
Heather: I hope your stepson and family enjoy New York. I also hope your OH is feeling better now. Such a scare for you.
Lynette: Congrats on the new car!Brenda: Hi to you! What did you do to make the hamster angry? LOL
AQ: Don't worry. Your op will go fine!!!Take care, all.
Evening all:
Lindybird: More seriously fab photos! I can almost hear and smell the ocean in those photos and feel the breeze in my face. Here, our sunsets tend to be very fast. The sun doesn’t linger at all; now you see it, now you don’t. My family noticed it when they were here the first time. Must be our latitude or something like that. How nice to have an Ikea near you; our closest is two hours away.
Rosy: How long do you have to entertain the 7-year-old? I was at Stonehenge 7 years ago when I took my granddaughter to the UK. It was really cold that day and we both warmed up with hot chocolate from the snack bar.
OG: Eye drops one less thing to pack!
Brenda: I see Andy M is back with Ivan Lendl.
Pat O: Welcome to you. We are sort of outliers here; we all met on the Daily Update and then migrated here although we do look in on the LG and LoTL nests, among others, just to make sure everything is under control. Re cornettos, there’s always those little single-serving Haagen Dazs treats - I mean, how much harm can they do? :-)
WendyB: 12 days to get hair and feet done? Assume you have other diversions on the agenda.
Diane: A state pie? How did I miss that? How nice to have the deer right outside your door; my granddaughter in Arizona has them wandering by their house too. Dang. That’s too darn hot and it’s not really summer yet. We’re due for a sudden jump in temps this weekend, with 100+ in some inland areas and high 80s in our neighborhood. Was your old one a push too? It’s good exercise, but in that heat…..
AQ: Take it easy before the op.
Good day in the garden; tidied up roses and salvia, but lots more to do. Friend who was feeling somewhat down came by for cup of tea and we ended up going out to lunch nearby. Have a few errands tomorrow, then more gardening before the heat arrives.
Have a good Wednesday everyone.
Thank you, lovely people, for support & encouragement. Lots of good vibes arriving from Indiana. I'm not at all worried this time as I was for previous knee. Is that a good sign LOL? I am lazing around reading, knitting, just watched Antiques Roadshow at Bowes Museum, bringing back memories of my UK trip. Forgot to say I enjoyed my "walk" in Wales courtesy of Linda.
Good Morning. Nice to see that you're resting, AQ. Hope you can lay your hands on plenty of books. Glad you enjoyed your trip on my walk!
DIANE - That's shockingly hot. And too hot to be mowing! I expect your lifting muscles are toned by how much of everything you have to do for yourself! Love that you saw the deer at close quarters.
ANNETTE - How kind of you to comfort your Friend. Nice that you were able to enjoy some lunch together. We don't get sunsets like that all the time, just when the right conditions come together: then we make our way to the sea to have a look.
