Yesterday was a thundery day of plenty, after a slow start (leftover whale on nest) and some horrible aggression, Goliath on David. I think Fergus's suggestion is perfect (notwithstanding the pronounced genders) until the official names are decided on.
Having slept thru a lot of it, please see CC's summary (link to follow).
However, I thought that the "mystery bird" could do with demonstrating prominently, as a number of us have missed previous IDs.
Male and female cuckoo - he seems to be modifying his call with "pop-ups", and she is the "bubbler":
Here is the thunder that didn't bring on a storm, thank goodness; then Goliath exercising her maturing voice and then enjoying a couple of poops:
EDIT - And this is the male cuckoo with echo-cackle - is that him or another bird?

EJ's been gone for 15 minutes.

I wonder if EJ's gone fishing. 30 minutes now.
EJ's back. No fish. She was gone for 43 minutes!
As I've been tangled up in this 'n that, I'm still here :-(
Am so happy to see how David is coming along:

This picture was in the ~DT this morning with the caption above - could this be Odin I wonder or could it be one of the other ospreys that are around.
Keep looking in from time to time at what's happening. Thank you to all for updates etc.
