For those who didn't have time to go thru yesterday's DU pages (even tho there weren't as many due to it being Moffer's birthday and she was missed), here is a lovely snap of EJ with #1 (those wings! and where was #2?!) which Moffer posted from RSPB Operation Osprey's Facebook page:
At least 3 fish and some intrusions yesterday, each dealt with appropriately.
This was EJ returning from the briefest of flyarounds @ 0022hr:
Not a lot of sleep, but some, so far.
IMAGICAT
There's no stopping Big One:
They are both at EJ's feet now:
They are clearly enjoying being able to explore a bit. It must be nice for EJ to have a bit more space as well.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
I'm off out shortly so I'll see you all later.
Bye CLARE
Chick #1 is just 15 days old. Exploring the nest
Birdie Num Num's brilliant DU summary 2017
How grown up they look being fed from the fish tail
A little while ago. #1 had a problem with #2
and then with EJ. Attitude!
There is still some fish left. Both chicks asleep while EJ stands guard.
EJ's watching someone, but she isn't sounding the alarm (unless my sound has gone)
Alarm calls from EJ. Unseen Intruder above the nest
Another feed from fish 1.
#1 had turned away for now
Neither chick is very hungry
EJ has a meal, still food chirping :)
