Hi folks, hope you enjoyed the revalries (not sure of the spelling)and relaxed in America. Hi to our Finnish and Australian friends and anyone whom I have missed out.
Its been a very windy day at LG with I think 5 fish delivered in total. EJ had a job to stay on the nest at times and during the course of the day we found her huddled next to her young ospreys trying to keep them dry and sheltered from the wind. Of course they are too big for that and at times she was the one trying to get under them. She is off the nest at the time being and our youngsters are staying tight on the nest in a huddle. Do hope the wind dies down by morning so that they can be ringed and blinged and soon we shall know their names.
If it stays too windy they will try another day, but hopefully sometime this week.
Happy viewing and night, night.

All three are up, probably thinking mum would come back with a fish, but no, it was a stick instead. Now doing exercises and preening instead.

Hi, Margobird, my thoughts exactly (and my mom is getting better bit by bit, well she is no youngster anymore, thank you for asking :) )
I so hoped today was the R'nB -day (ring and bling) 'cause I'm not sure if I can watch tomorrow, but I am absolutely sure the staff will choose the best possible day for that
EDIT, so it was a stick fetching flight

They certainly are enjoying the feel of the wind beneath their wings (there's a song in there somewhere!)

DjoanS thanks for the pics loved watching one of them helping Mum with the housework. There has been a lot wing exercising today.

Not sure DjoanS but I think it is a Bette Midler song or at least something very similar.
Just seen one of the GEMs doing some serious wingercising, then lifting a good few inches into the air! Soon we'll need to call them GYFMs. That's "Giant Young Flying Machines" LOL
Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.
Juvenile #1 'helicoptering' about a foot off the nest. Better get those rings on quick or they will be gone.
It was a serious wing flapping session, that's for sure. There appears to be a window in the windy weather from now until tomorrow morning. I guess that the ringing/tagging will likely be in the morning (but I said that last night!).
It said on the weather forecaste at lunchtime that the winds would die down in the north until the end of the week when they will be back at gale force, so not much respite but hopefully enough for them to be able to R&T them.
All three facing camera side, could be to get out of the wind. EJ keeps her vigil doing yoga.
