Happy Independence Day America. (hope I've got my history right)
It was a very gusty day at LG. What with EJ having difficulty landing earlier on that day and trying to keep on the nest when she was there. Lots of wing flapping exercises, one nearly took off but not quite. To top it all it started to rain.
EJ is right on the edge of the nest and has now taken off , probably going to her roost tree. Earlier she brought in a very large trout and just before that Odin had brought in a fish and left it for the youngsters. One did try to feed itself and then when mum came back with hers, abandoned it and went to mum for a feed. In all an entertaining day watching these incredible birds.
Happy viewing and we'll see what today brings. Night, night.

wow! that fish is huge and it is still alive and wriggling!
ghengis - EJ's fish are nearly always huge! ...and alive and wriggling ... she doesn't usually stop to eat the head like Odin does!
OK, I've been away awhile- wish I'd seen EJ land her fish. Have they all eaten? I think it's juve 2 in the foreground. Has 2 eaten ?
Oh my Goodness! - sorry about the misinformation, folks, its not easy when you're trying to cook in the kitchen and its thru the hall, and dining room, to get back to here! - then we had to eat it too!
Just assumed it was EJ as saw a large bird on the edge of the nest with the youngsters crowding round.
Anyway, she's done the usual thing and eclipsed his little fish with her big one!
There there Lindy - just so as you managed to enjoy your dins ?)
Finally, I've got to see EJ's fish. I do hope Odin doesn't get an inferiority complex LoL -wow !!
Oh I always enjoy my food, Cirrus ! ; - )
Here, then is the revised Fish List for today:
1st Fish: 7.25am, then 10.15am, 17,03pm, 18.45pm, and finally EJ's Magnificent fish at 19.11pm -
Total so far today: 5 Fish!
I give you a distinction for your fish report Lindy - and just hope our brave and superlative provider, Odin has eaten well himeself today.
Good evening all just managed to pop in and catch up. What a dreadful day they have had with the ferocious wind and rain. No wonder they looked a bit dejected. Somehow or other both EJ and Odin have managed to fish and when I first logged in EJ was feeding 2 of the youngsters. The fish that EJ came in with is still being eaten so up to her usual standards. I watched the weather forecast and it said that the winds should drop during this evening and there will be just a few showers.
Want to say many thanks for all the pics and the commentary as at least I know what has been going on. Will have more time tomorrow thankfully.
Jeanette meant to say in my post this morning so pleased you enjoyed volunteering at LG. I am hoping that I will be accepted as a volunteer next year so keeping my fingers crossed now.
