Happy Independence Day America. (hope I've got my history right)
It was a very gusty day at LG. What with EJ having difficulty landing earlier on that day and trying to keep on the nest when she was there. Lots of wing flapping exercises, one nearly took off but not quite. To top it all it started to rain.
EJ is right on the edge of the nest and has now taken off , probably going to her roost tree. Earlier she brought in a very large trout and just before that Odin had brought in a fish and left it for the youngsters. One did try to feed itself and then when mum came back with hers, abandoned it and went to mum for a feed. In all an entertaining day watching these incredible birds.
Happy viewing and we'll see what today brings. Night, night.

No no Sandy, I saw Odin bring it in. It was a whole fish, really.

Thanks Cirrus - I couldn't get a good look at it when he brought it in. I'll have a wager that the one that EJ eventually brings in will be considerably larger!
To be fair he is feeding #2 (I think). Poor Odin looks dwarfed by the juves!
Well, I trust so Sandy - and I wish she'd hurry up but how either of them are even managing to fly in this gale is amazing much less bag a fish.
So this is Odin feeding the young ones ... well ... two of them anyway! EJ must be away fishing, if he's doing the necessary :-)) I just assumed it was EJ until I read through the posts.

bet they really love flying wind assisted and soaring, I think it'll be landing where they want that may prove the problem
