Hi everyone, not seen much of the action yesterday as I have been on and off the computer. Believe it had its moments though.
All quiet as all three GEM's are sleeping and EJ must be roosting in a tree nearbye.
Not sure what the weather is doing, it sounded like a shower earlier.
Happy viewing, see you all in the morning.

Ha ha , BarbaraJean, and the juvenile Osp is still keeping an eye on the tail.
Heron77 About feathers - I have heard at Bassenthwaite on an earlier year that when they ring the chicks and weigh them, there is a feather taken from each. When I asked about this they said that no analysis had actually been done, due to cost, I think, but the feathers are there for reference at some time.
If you look right now you can see the difference in the head marking of # 1 & 2 .#2 has more white.
# 1 on the right of the screen
EDIT Oops nowi#1 is in the middle
EDIT 2 They moved again I give up:)
Formerly known as Barbara Jean
Yes, BarbaraJean, and when they look more fully in the camera do you think that No1 sort of 'looks older' - more 'matronly' in an odd sort of a way (am I making sense? - can't think how else to describe it)
EJ is still feeding anyone who is interested, but half the other fish still seems to be at right front of nest.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Hello ChrisyB - nice to see you over this side
And good night all , I' m pooped from my long hike in the hot sun - but what a great ending to the day . Young Osps feeding themselves for the very first time and some great shots of the nest.
#2 (I think) had another go, but decided it's easier to let Mum do the hard work for her!

Yes it looks older and it is so much more advanced than #2
When I first logged in to see a bird on the nest eating, I thought is that an intruder !
Then I realized, Oh my gosh, that is one of a chicks eating. ! It was eating like an adult
There's a broad smile on my face BarbaraJean - what a delight to see these youngsters grow and mature. Good night to you.
Just catching up again. It was quite funny a moment ago when one of the youngsters turned round and had a go at the tail end of the abandoned fish which is now right beside the third one nearest the cam. I think it was #2 that had a go at the tail.
EJ is finishing off her fish and the one that had been eating with her has finished and is now looking at the abandoned fish - picked it up and is having a go at eating it itself.
