Hi folks, Midsummers day, and the weather looks fair set till the weekend.
Not sure how many fish came in yesterday as was out in the evening.
Its a lovely domestic scene with the youngsters up and about and EJ watching over them in her usual stance. Quite quiet.

RSPB Giving Nature a Home
Hi: I had to make myself switch off and go watch tennis, do h/work and gardening amongst other things.....Nice to see the fish count is up now: Fish Delivery so far today:
6.38am - 8.58am - 14.35pm - 15.30pm - 16.05pm - 5 in all, so far.

Fish 5 and more fabulous pics - thank you so much DJoan and Lindy - it's just great getting a 'flavour' of the day after being out for most of it with such great pics and everyone's posts. Thank you all. Gotta go out this eveing and I sooooo wish I didn't sigh. Shall look forward to the totally fish tally on my return. Expect EJ to still be nagging Odin though LoL. Need a bus in hafl and hour so have a super evening everyone and I wish I could join you and have an evening 'in'.

Forget chicks, I don't think we'll be able to call them juveniles for long - they're huge!
Here is a pic I didn't get time to put on earlier - Odin arrived with a fish as I was putting up the ones of EJ moving sticks - it was so funny, as she went back and forth, and then back to where she started from, with this great big stick, knocking the young 'uns on the head with it as she went.....

Interesting that you say you don't have a favorite this year. Neither do I but I slightly favor Titch too.
As we look at Titch today is it hard to remember a few weeks ago some were worried it would not get it's share of food because it was smaller than the others LOL

In case anyone missed it there is a message on the main blog.
They had a volunteer count the number of fish Odin has delivered to the nest " just since May 21st" when the first chick hatched" and it is 180 fish !!
That doesn't count the fish he brought to EJ when she was incubating the eggs nor the fish he caught for himself. He is amazing!
. Some one on the main blog teases and asked if Odin would give fishing lessons for a small fee LOL
Half-time in the football ... will Odin deliver a fish? They look lovely in the evening sun!

Thought there might have been another fish by now. Lots of muttering and squeaking from the youngsters. Agree DJoanS that they always look so colourful in both the early morning and in the evening sunshine.

I am also having a hard time identifying them. If they are lined up with their backs to us the one with the shortest tail it Titch. The one with the most white on the side of it's head is chick #2 . Chick #2 had lighter colored feathers , but now it's feathers are the same color as the other Juveniles
Titch and chick #1 look a lot alike except for their tail length
This year they don't seem to have distinct personalities or habits to use as identification.
Hopefully when they are standing and exercising their wings we will be able to see identifying markings .
