Hi everyone. Tired from long day; just saw LOTL blog and not sure I can watch the cam. :-(

Off to check out previous posts.

  • Pic of my garden again:  Roses on a new archway we put in last year (but the rose was recycled from the previous archway, it didnt seem to mind)

  • Morning all:

Auntie: So happy Mom is progressing; assume she'll be getting a going over by the docs to see how to prevent a recurrence.  Do your best to take that trip to Phtiolampi. Do you stay overnight or just visit for the day?  I  note the restaurant serves very locally caught salmon and fresh pastries.  And - let's get our priorities straight here - there's a gift shop.  :-)

Margobird: Good grief. You and OH are gadabouts.  Is Al Green still alive?  Nice to see Tony Bennett still out and about. Have a good time.

OG:  How nice that you know your birds by name.  Very pretty butterflies - have never seen one with transparent wings. Wonder what triggered that little deviation in their evolution.

Alan: Handbags 1, Shoes 1 after extra time.  Hysterical!  :-)  No injuries I hope.

Lindybird:  Love your rose arch. Which rose is that?  I'm determined to have at least one in the garden. There's a nursery nearby called La Sumida that specializes in roses and has a massive area that includes arch arrangements (for $$$s).  Won't be buying anything there, but will train our own. Have to find out which will work best. We won't actually plant anything in our garden until the end of September/October. The soil will only get hotter and drier from now on. Fall is good in that it's still warm but cooler weather/rainy season on way and new plants won't be stressed. Wonder what the octopus says about the U.S./Ghana match.

Have just found that the US match will be televised live on ABC starting at 11 a.m. Pacific Time - just under two hours away, so must have shower and do minor shopping errand before then.  Back later! take care all.

  • SOOSIN  Watched for a while but no action on the Loch Insh osp nest so can't help you on no of chicks. The nest is on an  RSPB site so I wonder if they have any info.

  • OG  nice butterfly pics

Half watching the tennis match between Nadal and a very good German player who at the moment is beating Nadal 2 sets to 1

  • Well I'm settled down in front of telly as the US/Ghana match is about to start.  Go USA!!  :-))

  • A scorcher today – had to come in a few times to cool off.  Had to come here via my page – but between whiles it has been normal – apparently gremlins in the server again.  Just realised, I didn’t make any replies this morning even though I posted – so will try to be brief.

Diane – when I was googling Bilberries etc, I found a reference to them in respect of “floaters” in the eye.  I look on my two floaters as familiar friends – think I would miss them if they went, but glad I don’t seem to be getting any more!

Auntie - so pleased your Mum is doing well.  I do hope you will get some time away visiting Pohtiolampi – I looked at the website and found lots of lovely pictures of Ospreys and other wildlife there.

Lindybird – not only a poet, but also a mistress of suspense – hope I find out soon what was the Drama next door which you promised us!!!  Another beautiful Rose on your arch – lovely deep shade of pink.

Well nobody else around – are you all watching that energetic stuff on the TV?  I hope the right individuals, teams etc are winning.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Evening all,

Annette : Just watched the US v Ghana match. It was a great game with very little negative play. Either team could have won but Ghana just shaded it. So we have 2 of the last eight now- Uruguay and Ghana.

  • I don't know how cold it was as I took myself to church this morn but overnight min was 2.3 C. Church has heaters so it was cosy. OG - Gorgeous butterflies. Lindybird - I love roses. That one is covered in blooms! Alan - "Handbags 1 Shoes 1" and no red card?!! Dibnlib - I started watching the Nadal-Petzschner match but I didn't make it through the first set as the telecast began at 11.25 pm and I was falling asleep. There's not enough time in my life to watch opsreys, tennis and sleep. LOL. Now I'm off to catch up on the Daily news.

  • Dang, I posted on the old thread. Moved post to new one.
