Weekly Chat Sunday, June 20,2010

Hi everyone. Tired from long day; just saw LOTL blog and not sure I can watch the cam. :-(

Off to check out previous posts.

  • Good morning all on weekly chat.  So busy on there so no way I can reply to all but thanks for all the posts and pics.  Didn't spend much time on the internet yesterday as I was so upset.  Although Lady is still very ill I was amazed to see the difference this morning.  Just hope she will be offered fish by the Laird.

    Have a good day all.

  • I think it's a "take it easy day" here - lovely long summer day - save some energy for watering garden this evening!  We were woken by one of those early morning calls this morning - some machine generated call which you can't identify to complain!  Our alarm system went silly while we were out yesterday so our kind neighbour had a busy time - and the police and alarm company apparently messed up between them - so that has to be sorted today.

Enjoyed overnight and morning posts.  Diane - sorry about your brother's thoughtlessness.  Enjoy your dancing in the woods on this longest day!  Annette - hope your contractors work well this week.  Auntie - enjoy your "odd things" and lazy week.  Margobird - try to concentrate on all the good things  - did you read Fiona's beautiful early morning blog at LotL?  If she can think so positively after staying up all night, we owe it to her, Peter and the volunteers to see the positives in the situation there, while accepting the whole of life's cycle.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • I have been wondering about osprey behaviour this morning. The Millford nest in Connecticut is very interesting not least because it is the one where the male feeds the female. I was wondering if this might mean that she was ill at some point and the male had to feed her and it then became a habit?

  • Thank you original goldfinch I am feeling a lot more positive today.  I went to the LOtL diary first things this morning and so beautifully written and she has since added more before going to get some well earned rest.  I am grateful Lady is still with us and looking a lot different today.  could hardly believe she was still with us.    As I have mentioned in previous post I have accepted the situation and quite rightly believe we give all the team at LOtL our support at this difficult time.

  • Morning everyone,

Just been in the garden wrestling with Hamish, actually trying to give him a wash with his medicated shampoo. Eventually got water and shampoo on most of him and some on Lady P and myself.. He hates getting washed but loves getting dried.

Tiger : Interesting thoughts about the Milford ospreys. It could well be the case.

I have not watched the LOTL cam for a couple of days now but have read the blogs on the site. I thought I would wait and see what the outcome was before I commented.

Everyone thanks for their chat and Lindybird for your monday 'smile'. I'm sure we all needed it.

Weather is excellent today, sunny and warm. Temp 19.1c

  • Morning alll ... still just morning! I had an early morning shopping trip .... beautiful day here ... sunny and warm, but I'm sure the sea breeze will arrive before long!

Margobird, glad you are feeling more positive today .... I'm afraid I haven't really been able to watch, except for the odd brief peep.

Lindybird - having seen the beautiful pics of the poppies in your garden, I have decided to try them in mine :-)    Liked the 'Monday smile' too.

OG - your music day yesterday sounds brilliant

Diane - enjoy your Summer Solstice - dancing in the woods sounds lovely

OH and I sat in the conservsatory with our mid-morning drink and watched the golfinches on the feeders ... I'm so pleased they showed up right on cue, because he's been away for a few days & I'm not sure he believed me that they have become such frequent visitors :-))

Thanks to everyone for chat etc

Wimbledon, football and ospreys to watch .... what more could I ask for?

    Take care

Joan - avid bird and nature watcher in Northumberland!

Ooooh!!!! "Odd doings". May we ask . . .

LOL sorry, I probably chose my words incorrectly. I only bought new racks to my kitchen cupboard :)

  • Good Afternoon All.

Busy morning here but I have been keeping my eye on the LG and LOTL cameras and reports.

We couldn't let our children visit their Dad yesterday as we had already agreed to help with the Summer Fair at Aylesford Priory, in Kent, which was a long and enjoyable day. He did though receive his cards and presents.

I will try to catch up with all the chat, but we are going up to the Wirral tomorrow to visit my sister, so plenty to do today.

  • But were they odd looking racks, auntie....... ! ?         ;-)

We were all wondering if it was something much more interesting, but there you go, life is like that and these things have to be done....

Got back half an hour ago from local (well a few miles away) Hospital as OH had his cataract "done" a few months ago and was called back into the clinic to have his eyes checked again.   A long wait to be seen, but I took a thick book with me & then I drove back home as he had had drops put into his eye. (all is OK)

Just had a nice cup of tea in the sunny garden and then decided we can lunch out there again today, that's two days on the run so we always joke "this may be Summer, just these few days!"  but we always hope of course that there will be more pleasant days to come.

Will pop back on here later when I have read all the overnight posts.
