Morning everyone and welcome to a new week! Last week's Weekly Chat ended with some interesting entries and very interesting links (wonderful pix of swan giving cygnets a ride, courtesy of Lindybird, and, thanks very much Alan; another perspective on those oil-covered pelicans - good news too!). OG: Not rushing and dashing; kids are here and headed to bed early for ultra-early departure. Margobird: Thanks for update on Hope and Lily.
Gather USA/England draw was result of bungle by England goalkeeper?
Walrus !!!!!! Unbelievable.....
Morning, All. Sunny start again here today, and it could be warm later, so I'm already loading the washing machine ( thank goodness we don't have to use the old fashioned tubs and mangles....)
Have some pretty clematis coming out now, so may post pics of those later. Will not post so much today, as felt I'd been using up too much space here of late !
Hope the work continues to go well with your garden renovations, Annette. (Diane: thought seriously about a dog door, but as he comes in with filthy paws a lot of the time, we have to shout "feet" as soon as we let him in, and he dutifully stands still while we clean him off).
Have a Good Day, All.
Good morning – not so bright, but still warm.
Lindybird – well done with the ironing. I’ve got a mini-pile of two items – is it worth getting the ironing board out? But if I leave it, will it suddenly inflate to twelve?
Annette – do the Heron’s nest in the tops of the tall trees by the ocean? If the oil companies haven’t even checked out what they need to protect in the Gulf, not much hope for their plans – and apparently none of them had much in their plans beyond what BP have already tried!
Diane – I still haven’t checked Caterpillar’s identity, but here he is (not a brilliant picture):
I had forgotten about BigRig Steve’s allergies – perhaps his Mum gave him a stiff talking to about taking care of himself!
Lindybird – prepared the above, then thought to check for your first post, as you usually come on here just before me – and you have! Don’t worry about using space; we love to see your garden pictures. I am waiting for my Black Iris to come out – it’s a bit behind the blue and yellow.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Lovely caterpillar, OG. In the mists of my memory, its a moth of some kind, but can't remember which. Black Iris - lovely, do post a pic.
Just seen your post on the Daily Page, margobird - hope youre feeling better now and that its less painful. Enjoy yourself whilst your OH is away!!
Good morning Lindybird I am not too bad but will be pleased when the stitches come out as they are pulling a bit now but that will happen Friday so not long to wait now. The most painful bits are where the injections went in, quite a bit of bruising. I have to take aspirin every day so I do bruise very easily. I am going to have a great day of osprey watching today and perhaps I will get to see fish being delivered, I missed most of the deliveries yesterday, in the wrong place all the time.
Margobird
Morning all - beautiful morning here and quite warm too. Had my first golfinches of the year on my feeders yesterday ... wonderful ... hope they come back.
Have really enjoyed reading all the chat .... sculleries/ mangles etc ... talking to animals and birds(me too!)and toy boats for the bath! I never had a boat ... but I remember a tiny submarine that you put baking powder in and it was supposed to move through the water ... mine invariably sank :-((
gerorge g - good to hear that your b-in-l will be nearer and hoping that things improve
Alan - glad to know Hamish has declared that it is summer
OG - lovely hairy caterpillar
Lindybird - you don't post too much ... makes lovely reading! Loved the poppy pics
Everyone else ... thanks for chat/pics etc
Take care
Joan - avid bird and nature watcher in Northumberland!
