Daily Update (LG Nest) Sunday June 13th

EJ gone for comfort break...And back.......maybe it is one of the chicks calling, their calls are getting bolder and louder .

EJ tries to settle them down. All scramble for cover as best they can.

After they all turned away, she took the fish round to the other side to see if she could persuade them to have "seconds"!  She is now finishing up the leftovers.

That was a joy to watch. They all, including EJ had a good meal. Sorry Odin, none left for you.

I do believe that she is telling Odin to go fishing again.

EJ trying to tuck as much of the chicks in as she can ... and calling ... Odin must be having a rest nearby, and he's obviously not allowed!

Odin is such a selfless provider for EJ and the chicks, I wonder if he perhaqps also catches smaller fish and eats them away from the nest to keep himself going?  I only ask this because his standard of provision has been top class this season.

Paul, according to Roy's book, it is not unusual to see the male birds eating the odd fish themselves before they take one back to the nest.

Odin arrived back at the nest but I think that was just to add a bit of weight to the defensive efforts.  Doubt any intruders would try too much with a couple like this defending.

There is a "break out" from the chicks from under EJ, then Odin comes in, lots of chirping from all, and off he goes again.
