Hi everyone and especially to Annette in SoCal - have posted a last note that I was starting new thread, hope that helps.
As you can guess, its raining or has been raining and EJ is soaked but managing to keep the wee ones undercover. I'm not sure how many fish were delivered yesterday but there were a few.
Rain seems to have eased and EJ is having a little stretch at the moment.
Happy watching to all of you around the globe. See you in the morning.

..........now Titch has got to the front, and is being fed. They try to be well behaved in front of Mum...
All now full and in a heap again.EJ offering food to various heads poking out, but they are too full to move for it, and not really bothered.....
EDIT: Now one is managing a morsel, not sure if its Titch who is at the front of the heap, now, its all a tangle.
EJ eats some herself, and starts to manouvre around the nest to settle again.... but one chick wakes up, and gets fed some more!
EJ moves a stick that's been annoying her, and then settles down again.
Chicks fed, a light lunch herself, a bit of housework and now EJ is back to being an umbrella.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
I see that on the main blog, a poster is worrying about chick 3. I am on my third year of watching, but honestly couldn't call myself knowledgeable. I haven't picked up any real worries from you guys but see that David has said today that things are difficult for 3rd chick. I mean, generally, not this particular year.
HeatherB : Just read Davids comments and he also says that he thinks chick #3 is further ahead than Garten was at this stage last year. Also Odin has brought in 4 fish already today.

I'm in my 3rd year of watching, too. I know nothing compared to others here..... but as I understand it, the 3rd chick is sometimes only an insurance and can be fed last if there is a food shortage, thus ensuring the safety and growth of the other two. So we lost the 3rd chick 2 years ago, when the male did not supply enough fish.
However, when there is plenty of fish as this year and last, there is no reason why all 3 chicks should not thrive and grow to fledge.
