Hi everyone.
EJ has just fed the chicks again and is now settling them down for the night.
What a day it has been, high drama this afternoon with the intruder about, but Odin and EJ defended superbly.
Chicks have been well fed despite the windy conditions for fishing. I think there was a total of 5 fish? Perhaps someone can correct that if I'm wrong.
Happy watching to those who carry on through our night. Goodnight, sleeptight EJ and family.

Thanks again to all contributors today, excellent work. Odin has excelled again in what sounds like much windier conditions than was forecast. It's definitely going to calm down for the rest of the week and into the weekend - perfect for Odin to better his personal best of nine in a day.
I was musing last night as I watched EJ in the late evening sun that not only do the chicks benefit from Odin's surfeit of fish, but she does as well. Despite moulting freely she looks in terrific condition, with her plumage positively radiant.

I heard EJ getting excited and came through to see Odin flying in with a good-sized fish.

All lined up in a row ... feeding nicely!
I wish the center would give us some close-ups of the chicks

Twenty minutes later ... three stuffed chicks lying in a heap ... and EJ finishes the tail! She settles over them in the early evening sun ... beautiful :-)
Was that the fifth fish of the day? or maybe only the fourth?
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
It was a medium sized fish and it has been entirely dispatched in under 20 minutes!
Good evening all and thanks for the lovely pic DjoanS. Just logged in and saw the end of the feed and 3 very full chicks. EJ looking glorious in the sun keeping the little ones underneath her and protecting them from that wind which is still blowing.

Just logged on again to find EJ calling, surely she's not hungry again. Those chicks must be overful by now.
