Pitch dark on the nest right now, but can make out EJ.
Nice to hear a Willow Warbler. :-)
Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.
That would be nice Heron - if only I knew which one it was among those twitterings. :-)
I only found out it was a willow warbler by going onto the main RSPB website and checking out the willow warbler file. Someone (can't remember who) mentioned willow warblers on one of the past Daily Update threads, so I thought I'd check out what one sounded like. The best way I can describe it is a bit like a slowed down chaffinch song. Don't know if that makes sense.
OK. So just Googled RSPB bird songs and found myself in an English country lane with five noisy birds, each of whom I was able to click on and hear their individuals songs. Have bookmarked that page now. Brilliant. Thanks for reminding me about that, Heron.
Heron: Isn't it time you went to bed? :-)
(EJ still fidgeting about on chicks. Having a little preen.)
Good gosh! The oldest chick was attacking EJ's head and pecking her!! Gobsmacked!!!
If nothing goes right, go left! :-)
Hmm. Went to brush teeth; came back to find EJ up and chicks all looking excited, but did not see her feed anyone although I may have missed it. EJ had a bit of a time settling back on the chicks with #1 chick flapping and bobbing up for attention/food. All settled now.
Sandy. Yes! Wasn't that interesting! Pushy kid, eh? At one point EJ sort of jumped back in surprise.
Morning all. Chicks are certainly lively and noisy this morning! Great to see them in good weather. Have to go out shortly and will be gone for 12 hours or so. Please keep up the comments and pics.
Have a nice day Patriciat: I'm sure someone will be along to take pix, etc., I'm off to bed in another bit here.
