Hi all. Just starting this 'coz going out to birthday dinner with OH tonight (Indian - his choice). Back to catch up with last week's final posts later, (which included a great photo from OG's trip).
A quick catch up for the last few days so thanks to all for poem, pics and stories.OG so sorry you are not well enough to go to Loch Awe and how daft that the b and b would regard a bath over the shower as suitable for you. Hope you are well enought to enjoy Ingleston

Looks so nice dibnlib well done to OH.

Annette - I quite agree about a woman having her own money and believe me, I know how to spend it----- I think that OH is just trying to save me from myself :-)))
Evening all: Lovely pix (you can never have too many photos of Dillon!), garden projects, and blossoms.
Lindybird: "Queen of the Angels, etc...." was a hymn in the (Catholic) school I went to.
Had not-wonderful lunch (the food was so-so) but nice time with friend, who's another one (like my OH) taking a summer class at Cambridge this summer. She's taking Art History and is tacking on a few days in Paris afterward (she's never been there and is so excited). Her OH died way too young and suddenly three years ago, so she's indulging herself - finally. She bought her dog, Lily (don't know what kind, but like Oro with lovely disposition but shorter hair) who sat in the car (windows all open, food and water available) while we had lunch.
Granddaughter called to say they'll be here second week of June for two days (one day each way to drive and two to visit and see what they can pack into their ever-so-tiny Toyota to take back (not much I say). Oh well.
Big Memorial Day weekend here, with lots of events honoring veterans.
Heather: What do you hear from s-in-law in Helmand province?
Aaack. LG cam down again. No Trucker Steve. No EJ and family. What's a blogger to do!
Hi, all.
dibnlib: Always love photos of Dillon! Congrats on your very beautiful rockery. Lindybird: Love the May blossom pictures, especially the first one. Will make that one my next desktop wallpaper. Really liked the symbolism of the long, flowered path. OG: Hope you get your money back promptly from the hotel that incorrectly booked your room.
Annette: Your Mom was absolutely right about women needing their own money. I wish every woman (actually, every person) could be economically independent. The tiny Toyota may not haul much of granddaughter's stuff. Maybe rent a U-Haul truck? :-) I hope you have a wonderful holiday weekend. Kick back and relax.
I took care of a big To-Do list today and now very tired. Off to sleep. Everyone have a good weekend.

Here are some interesting Kermode Bear videos. (The Kermode is a black bear that is white, but not albino. It's a genetic trait.) http://bcspiritbear.com/ This site is from the rainforest in the Pacific northwest of British Columbia. I don't know much about the folks who sponsor it.
Also, did you know that perhaps 4% of your genes could be Neanderthal? Many people alive today possess some Neanderthal ancestry. This landmark discovery was announced recently and was HUGE in the scientific community. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/8660940.stm
Diane: Oh I had no problem at all with the Neanderthal findings - I've met some of them! :-)
Annette: LOL!
