Weekly Chat, Sunday, May 23, 2010

Hi all. Just starting this 'coz going out to birthday dinner with OH tonight (Indian - his choice). Back to catch up with last week's final posts later, (which included a great photo from OG's trip).

  • I'm munching on a sandwich & looking at the stills cam.  Hope you both feel better today, OG - you are wise not to go away if you don't feel up to it, better to enjoy it properly another time.

  • Thanks - Lindybird - we both seem marginally better - I think mainly with the relief that we don't have to pack and get ready to go anywhere tomorrow!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Lindybird hope you enjoyed your sanwich, was just looking a stills can but all I have now is a red cross in the top left hand corner, is it just me.

  • OG - Do fight all the way re your room at hotel. A  room suitable for disabled clients shouldn't just mean 'on the ground floor' - which is what often seems to happen.  Hope that you feel better soon. The ironing got done but I would much rather have been watching EJ and co. The laptop seems a better idea every time I think about it and indeed, I am tempted to do as Annette suggested and get myself one. Only hiccup is, I am wed to an Aberdonian (for overseas folk, read  -born in Aberdeen area which often means be very careful how you spend money) Worse than that, he was an accountant in his working life. It could be a Scotswoman's nightmare, married to an Aberdonian accountant----- but in case he reads this, of course it isn't as bad as that :-)))

  • Afternoon Heather B had to laugh when I read your post.  My OH is an accountant and views everything with an accountants eyes.  I am always telling off for it.  Glad you got your ironing done.

Afternoon Margobird ,a kindred spirit, methinks! My OH is at his best when telling me that' buy one get one free is never free. Nothing is free in a supermarket. We just pay extra on everything else and by the way did you check the expiry date on the BOGOF? ' Makes him sound awful but really, he is not and we have a lot of laughs when he puts his accountant voice on. I know he thinks I am a lost cause.

  • HeatherB : Speaking as a Dundonian is it true that an Aberdonian will try everything known to man to avoid buying a round?

  • I know just what you mean Heather B and my OH thinks I am a lost cause too.  Like you we have laughs about accountants.

It has been said---- the words wallet and superglue spring to mind :-)  But I have to say that I do have OH well trained - even though the hand that goes to open the button that opens the back pocket that gives access to the wallet that is fastened with a stud is sometimes a tad slow-----
