Thought I'd start a separate thread for the posting of news, updates, pictures etc. from the nest at the Loch of the Lowes. Now that the first chick has hatched at Loch Garten the Daily Update page is going to get too unwieldy if it is used for news from LotL as well as LG, and the "News From Other Nests" is getting pretty full as well.
Lindybird I am shouting now. A little while ago a friend of mine who is an osprey watcher phoned to say she was no longer on the nest and I thought the worst. I cannot believe it what a wonderful bird Lady is. I know we have to be cautious about this though but what a surprise Peter and LOtL have had. She is just not ready to leave yet.

Vespa thank you so much for putting this on. It is so hard to believe after we have seen her struggle so much.
Is that Lady food soliciting ?
Formerly known as Barbara Jean
Just for once I actually managed to record her this time!!!!
Richard Nixon said that it is only when we have been to the deepest valleys can we appreciate standing on the highest mountains. The valley we all been in these last two days has been pretty deep.
Here was how he put it! Listen at http://easylink.playstream.com/historyplace/thp-nixon-farewell-excerpt.rm
She was watching carefully as a flock of geese went over, a few minutes ago, so is certainly taking more of an interest in what's around her.
Thanks for the link to the clip, Tiger.
My thanks to all for the many posts about Lady. I know we have to be cautious as she is so weak now but have watched the video where she flew off to the Loch and still find it hard to comprehend that she summoned up the strength from somewhere to do that.
I suppose she is used to going with food and fluid on her long trips to Africa so a short flight onto the loch below her wasn't too bad and she had been well fed up to this weekend so had some reserves. She seems a bit refreshed after her "bath". I would now love to see her eat something mind you!!!.
