Daily Update (LG nest) Tuesday 18th May

EJ has her back to us at the moment and keeps fidgiting - could there be somethin in the offing. We can but live in hope.

Happy watching all you early morning ones.  I'll sign off now till our UK morning.

Sorry bit premature with the handover, clock is a little fast.

  • EJ back , has another go at the same stick, chirps a bit and Odin flies off ... I think he was expecting a longer turn on the eggs.

  • well that was confusing for me! I had the sound down, looked at the screen and saw Odin on the eggs and i didn't even know he had switched with EJ! However she just came back and turfed him off. Poor guy, was just getting comfy.

Here is the exchange from early when Odin makes a quick exit and EJ has a long wrestle with that stick

  • That didn't take long. EJ returns and  Odin, takes the hint, and leaves.

  • Well, you might not read this fans so I'll have to remember to do a copy and paste on tomorrows page but:

    Normal 0 false false false

Sandy, DJoan, and Brenda – so many thanks for the pics,  Gary for the vids (you the man Gary) –and Alicat for the info that EJ did NOT bring Odin any fish back- thank you.

Going to bed happy that EJ had two fish but a bit concerned about Marge (Lady?)  -so, in the end, how many fish did she get ?  And was Marge quick to return to her eggs when Malcolm deserted them?

EJ no doubt knows the first chick is about to hatch and Odin will need to  step up the fish deliveries.

Just before this fish delivery she was "yelling" at Odin . She has been calm about  prior  fish deliveries, but she will have no patience in waiting when the chicks are hungry.

Evening Barbara Jean and you are right that Odin needs to step up deliveries.  At least she has had suppeer tonight.

Lady at LOTL has also had a fish delivered, first one since this morning and the Laird is egg sitting at the moment and hopefullly he will stay until Lady returns.

Catching up on what has been happening at LOtL and LG. We are now calling them Lady and Laird eh! much better names for them.  So glad Lady has been fed. Had been watchin earlier in the afternoon but missed the delivery.

  • Just catching up on what has been happening.  Great pics and a delightful clip from Gary of the fish delivery. Looks as though EJ had a tussle with a stick before taking off with the fish.

Both nests have been serviced by their mates - great, at least they have had two meals today.

Brenda EJ looks absolutely stunning in the setting sun and she also seems to be fidgeting a lot, wonder if there is going to be a hatch soon even though I have predicted Friday.

The male at LoTL left the nest before Lady returned yet again, I do hope those eggs are going to be OK.  She must despair of him.

He must be a very inexperience male and not quite sure of his duties - like Odin the magnificent!!!

You could be right Margo. David did say that the hatching can be a couple of days before or after. He says Friday night / Saturday morning, so take two days off and you get tomorrow night / Thursday morning.

It is a worry for LotL as he doesn't seem to be the most reliable partner. I did have a quiet laugh to myself, when he was referred to as Frank Spencer on the blog.

EJ has just gone for a fly around.

Couldn't agree more with whoever made the reference to Frank Spencer too
