Lynette: You asked Gary where he's located. He did answer you the first time around (Saturday?), but seems you either missed it or the posts got messed up. Anyway, you asked again yesterday and Emma responded; then Gary responded again (he said he wasn't ignoring you!). Anyway, Gary is in Connecticut in the Eastern U.S., but he's a Brit, like me! (Sorry if this all sounds complicated)

11.19 it seemed there was an intruder about – EJ alone on the nest- (at some point BrendaH I’llpost on Chat (briefly) about Mull – thank you for your interest.)
So, I’m almost (but not quite) back in the saddle :) and I gather we are all now on the look out for the first fish of the day. My eyes are peeled and hope I don’t go downstairs (my PC is in my spare bedroom) at just the moment Odin arrives.
Not long to go now for the first chick!!

Sure did Gary - ah, and now EJ is getting a little 'static' exercise. She needs a good fly around. May the first fish arrive soon.
EJ indulging in energetic wing-flapping and then flops down on the eggs again ... intruder alert seems to be over. Seems likely that Odin is not around now as Ej is not calling ... hopefully he has gone fishing!

she had a nice couple of minutes off the eggs, having a "stretch" . EJ had a good feed yesterday so if Odin is a little late today with his offerings, she should be fine.
With our lovely couple playing musical chairs so well with the egg sitting, I'm sure that Odin is hoping he will be the one sitting when the first chick starts to emerge. Wouldn't he be the proudest bird?

Wow, Wattle, indeed he would but I just bet our experienced female may feel those eggs rock or otherwise just 'know' that it's time and Odin won't get a look in until EJ stands up and shows hiim.
OK, not much happening at the moment. EJ seems to wiggle a little more at the moment. Still she seems nice and calm and it's been uneventful since I've been watching. Off to start my day so back later (sorry my location took us "off topic" for a bit but enjoyed reading where everyone is from, I hadn't worked out where all you UK based "guys" are:)))
last year I don't recall Odin brooding the chicks after the hatched. I wonder if he will brood them this year

That's right. Odin didn't, BarbaraJean. He 'hovered' around the nest untiI EJ came back from eating, didn't he? I would think (but could be wrong) that EJ would guard that duty jealously, but who knows ?!! EJ went fishing before the chicks fledged so anything could occur.
