Daily Update (LG nest) Wednesday 12th May

  • Auntie: I just posted a link to a BBC news item on the Weekly Chat page about a Gray Whale that has shown up off Israel. Apparently the Atlantic Gray Whale hasn't been seen for a couple of hundred years;.... (a long way of saying that maybe White-Tailed Ospreys aren't so unusual).  :-))

You're right about EJ seeming quiet - thought I heard a bit of flapping a minute ago and wondered if it was Odin on the camera pole or something.  Also some crows, who sound much harsher than our locals.  Anyway, I'm about to call it a night, so take care all.

  • She looks so cold!

    Smiles, Jan.

  • Good night Annette sleep well. I'm off too in a while

  • Odin is on the eggs giving EJ a break. I hope she can find a sheltered spot to rest and warm up. The interior part of a pine tree would work

  • EJ is back already. That was  short break. A bit of the snow is melting

We're told on the weather reports this morning that Scotland has had its coldest May night since 1996....

EJ now sitting on the nest, thankfully the snow is now  nearly gone.

  • I've been away from the screen for a while, and now I'm back it looks more like Odin on the nest....

  • Odin is dozing in the early morning sun, and you can almost see the snow melting around him.

  • 9.53:  EJ returns, clutching what I thought was some fish , but it turns out to be two big clumps of red moss. She peeps at Odin, and he takes the hint & flies off.

  • Morning all ... just logged on to check the day's reports and EJ arrives with talons full of red moss ... obviously time to change the colour of the soft furnishings! Odin departs without a fuss this time :-)
