Weekly Chat, Sunday May 9, 2010

Morning/evening all:  Lovely day here.  Sunny, warm, cactii are beginning to bloom.  Will be keeping one eye on the volcano and the other on EJ while doing other things tonight (hmmm...). Should be interesting.  Lots of chat about the volcano on the last page of the previous week.  Off to start dinner; back later!

    Lindybird - I read with an awful sense of foreboding your description of your friend's new kitchen! Next week I am getting a new boiler ... and then a new kitchen in a couple of months. As you say the final result will be worth it, but not the upheaval ... and mine is just a small kitchen!

    we had our en-suite stripped and renewed 2 years ago and 6 months later ditto the kitchen and breakfast room. This Feb it was the turn of the living room. A lot of upheaval but as everyone says, very well worth the chaos. A few weeks ago we had landscapers in to improve the garden and drive, so no turmoil for that but once again we are thrilled with the result. Hope all goes well with your work and I am sure you wil be pleased in the end.

  • LINDYBIRD thank you for that reminder. I remembered there had been some exchange of residences because of the size but couldn't think of all the inns and outs

  • Meeting up with OG at the local garden centre tomorrow so looking forward to that. We know what each other should be wearing so should recognise each other, Both of our OHs will be there as well. Only trouble is I have a rotten cold (had to cancel my session at the gym today) so I just hope that it is now at its worst and that I don't pass on any germs. We have also got tickets to see the Scottish Ballet dancing Romeo and Juliette at Eden Court tomorrow evening so do not want to be sneezing and snuffling my way through that!!

  • Linda / dibnlib ,  I remember about T. Blair not living at No 10, but out of interest, where did Gordon live, when he was PM.  and had two children ?  I don't remember hearing anything about that.

    dibnlib, hope you feel much better by tomorrow.

  • dibnlib:  Have a good gossip with OG tomorrow.  also, enjoy the ballet.

    don't remember where G. Brown actually resided in the end, does anyone else remember? (his two children looked very nice when they held hands as they left yesterday)

  • ps. Sorry to hear you have a rotten cold, dibnlib.  Perhaps it will be short lived, hope so.

  • BRENDA/LINDYBIRD    thanks to you both, I think an early night is called for. Dillon has had an early evening walk so I think I am off to bed shortly and will watch the Hebrides programme tucked up for the night....bye all

  • Good Night, Look after yourself.

  • Evening all;

    Lindybird: Had to laugh. Spoke to my sis in the UK this morning and she and OH were watching Cameron/Clegg on telly and realized they were both about the same age as their own son. Their response: "God help us!"  :-)   How fun for you to meet OG. Have some nice treats to eat.

  • Lindybird/Annette: I remember the exact minute I realized that I am older than Barack Obama. I'm now older than the president!!! How did this happen???

    DibnLib: Feel better soon!
