Daily Update (LG Nest) Sunday 9th May

Morning all:  Very windy at LG today....

Good aftenoon have just caught up with yesterday's daily chat and the last of previous week's chat.  I can see that EJ has had a good size fish today and also had a fish yesterday.  Can also see it was quite a traumatic day for EJ and Odin after several days of relative peace from intruders.  Glad Odin was there to help out.

Couldn't look in last evening as we went to see Joe Brown yet again.  As usual I enjoyed it so much, he really puts on a good show and what a fantastic musician he is, together with his group, one of whom is is his son.  Great to sing along with all the songs her performs.

 

Woke up to the news this morning that some Italian airports are closed which is news I didn't really want to hear.  Fingers crossed it will clear before we fly early Wednesday morning.

It certailnly kept us on our toes, Margobird.   EJ still seems fidgity, keeps arranging moss around her and getting up and turning eggs.

On a totally different note didn't realise Joe Brown was still going, that is "Joe Brown and the Brothers."

heard from Julie Q at the centre that they have a  new and much better camera which they will be putting into use once the chicks have hatched so look forward to that. Think I will have to do better than a packet of chocolate hobnobs next time we visit LG

dibnlib, thats great to know about the camera - hopefully much better pics will come our way!

EJ doing what she does best and that is sitting on her family to be and taking an interest in all around her.

All quiet on the western front. David explained on the other blog about strange noises.

EJ just looking round from time to time, now turning the eggs, what a great mother to be, settled down again. Could it be the windy conditions that are making her keep getting up and checking the eggs?

I take it there has been no evening delivery since last on. EJ waiting for her evening meal, sorthing the eggs out from time to time and fidgiting in the nest otherwise quiet with what sounds like blackbird song in the background from time to time.

I just came in as EJ left the nest for 30 seconds to take an exercise flight:  she sat down on the eggs as soon as she returned.  It is now very quiet, without so much birdsong as in the mornings.

Evening Lindybitd how are you feeling.  So you know how long Odin has been away from the nest.  Have not seen him although I have been watching quite a lot of the time.  Sounds as though there is a hail shower at the moment.  EJ certainly has had to sit through some shocking weather.
