OK. So we're keeping a special eye out for Odin this morning..... Cirrus: I remember Odin bringing fish very early when I was watching the chicks last year - it's much lighter earlier then so that may account for it. jsb: Thanks for the info re EJ's (non-)returning chicks. BIrds must be a lot like us: We love to see our kids but aren't too keen on having them move back in and taking over the house.
A handsome pair. Quite formidable together when threatened, too.
I have to go out now, so hope today will be quieter from now on.
does anyone know what that bird is that is singing away at the moment

I know I’m coming in late with all of this but I’ve just been a big coward. I really had begun to think that when Odin chased off the intruder yesterday there had been aerial combat and injuries sustained.
Thank you Annette – you remember well!
When I see EJ getting upset with Odin then I will get upset. Believe me when she is upset there is no mistake about it!! She yells non-stop !! Until then I will leave it to her to decided if she is getting enough food Good advice Barbara Jean
Also – very good theory on why Odin hasn’t been fishing much lately – he really did take this male intruder very seriously. Thanks for that.
Intruder not nearly as handsome as Odin – thanks for pics Auntie
It was definitely an intruder trying to mate with EJ not our precious boy. But Aunties pics up to page 3 are all of the intruder.
Yes Wattle – page four is certainly Odin . Big grin.
Definitely Odin again (page 5) Lindybird. Just wonderful
Lindybird: just a wonderful wonderful pic of EJ and Odin on the nest (page 6).
That noise, fans, is a pent up sigh of relief :)
Bird? Alicat - just missed it, all I hear is rain.
Hi ALICAT.I can make out a chaffinch and at least one other species. Not certain what it/they is/are though. Sorry.
Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.

Hi Cirrus.Don't worry about coming in late. I'm afraid I must admit to a slightly cowardly attitude before I read through the email alerts earlier this morning. It's one of those situations when the mind starts to argue with itself. Happy all looks and sounds well now at LG. Just wish the rain would go away.
Ok Alicat: I now hear the chaffinch (loudest) and a willow warbler in the background - periodcally. The cuckoo you'll know . (Sandy P taught me to recogise the Willow warbler)
Thank you for your kindness there Heron. Appreciatedl
Not a problem Cirrus.
Cirrus, iT was a genuine concern for most of us. (A big hug for you) xx
At least all is now - for the time being- okay!!
