Yes well, no live camera, no update. Here's hoping it's back on line soon!
That's not an intruder. That's a fish solicit.
Sandy R White TF popped into my mad brain a wee while ago. Wonder where she is now>? Be good if someone knew!! She really looked like she had taken a shine to THE nest didn't she>
Everything in life is speaking in spite of its apparent silence.
Annette: I like the idea of one or some of EJ's, older chicks coming back. Rothes is accounted for on her island and is too young anyway, as her sister Garten is also too young. So we need to go back to the 2006 brood, three birds, yellow rings, black letters, 8U, 8V and 8W. (I am not counting missing/lost contact birds, for which I still hold out for good news.) Further back then to 2004 brood, three birds, yellow/black, 27, 28 and 29. Before that you have to go back to 2002, when EJ on a different nest in Rothiemurchus, raised one young, which Roy ringed on the 6 July that year, details not to hand.
Above info courtesy of Roy's book, pages 22 - 30.
I think the reaction, would be a polite 'hello', then 'go away, can you not see that I am busy', just like a human mum in similar circumstances.
Unknown said: Morning all: Thanks for all posts. Does anyone know how EJ would react if one of her own chicks (say Rothes) came back to LG and tried to land on the nest. Would all parental ties be well and truly broken by then?

Sat track schedule Spring 2014
LG 7 days; RW & SWT nil; LDOP varies
Seems quiet at LG now, and no sign of the previous dramas today with 'intruders' trying to get on the nest. Here is Odin egg sitting:
.....Or now I look again, is it EJ??
It's a fishless EJ holding the fort Lindybird.
Thanks Cirrus. Thought I was getting good at telling them apart, but the head looked like Odin andthe chest like EJ's !! She is looking around a lot, and listening to other birds calling, I think. - No Fish! Oh Dear, Come On, Odin the Great !!
Unless I'm mistaken it sounded like a buzzard flying over the nest a while ago.
Sorry EJ, I've just put my trout in the oven, with sun-dried tomato and basil butter!
Lindybird: It's difficult to identify them from the back I have to admit . Much easier when they are facing the camera side.
EDIT yum ! jsb
EDIT yes, I thought so too Sandy
Oh the irony- I'm about to get my fish pie out of the oven !!!!!!
