HI all: I'm late starting this. Be sure to check the last two pages of the previous Weekly Chat - some interesting links, news, updates on nest data, photos. I haven't had a chance to read them all but off to do that now.
Diane: HALLIBURTON! AAACK! Wonder if our former VP made any money out of that!
AQ: Good luck with the shopping. At least you've got some time to look around. I think this spill will give the U.S. East Coast folks (where our Prez had given the okay to drill but now has put on hold) lots of amunition in their fight against the rigs.
Morning, All. Still cold here, but dry at least. My tulips are actually standing tall, as usually the springtime winds blow them down flat. Stayed up late last night watching EJ & can't help worrying somewhat abou t the turn of events. However, as we were not all as vigilant yesterday there is a strong possibility that she was given a fish at some point when there was no one here watching.
Only 2 more days to our Election - can't come too soon for me, I think I will explode if I see another 'political expert' pronouncing some theory on TV.
dibnlib: Great subject for your avatar - its so 'you' ! (I remember that photo of Dillon enjoying his swim).
All in USA: Why am I not surprised that no-one will take direct blame for the oil disaster...
OG: I probably unconsciously meant that OH also enjoyed the country smells - he was a farmer when we met, and likes nothing better than walking in the country fields, or in the hills, the more remote, the better. Not a Town person at all, just hates cities and all that goes on there. So perhaps I was being truthful ; - )
G’Morning Tuesday. OH going out early on church related task, so I am making a gentle start to the day. Concerned (rather than worried) about EJ, nest, ?intruder, Odin and apparent lack of fish. Perhaps we’ll get a new blog (hope not an update which we have to search for) – last one was Tuesday last week.
Emma – thanks for mentioning the large Bumble Bees – we seem to have unusually high numbers of them this year – surprised after such a winter, but maybe more people are creating bee and insect shelters these days. Annette – sorry you did not see Whales today – but you did see a lot of other wildlife. Our Oyster Catchers are black and white with long orange beaks – and they make a long squealing piping sound whilst flying. Diane/Annette – I see Arnie S (can’t spell his name!) is withdrawing his support for Californian offshore drilling. AQ – pleased you got rain for your garden. We have had less rain than most of the UK recently – supposed to get some today, but in the usual way of things, were really hoping OH can cut the grass – never satisfied! Lindybird – I too will be glad when Thursday is done – although we really don’t know this time what we shall have as a government – possibly a lot of deals to be struck before they actually get down to putting things right. I too love the countryside, smells and all!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
This page has been neglected today whilst we have been glued to the action on the Webcam.
Here are some lines for Odin:
I sit in nest of yellow moss
If you come by, I'll show who's boss!!
The only thing to make me move
Is one good shove from my one love!
ANNETTE Oyster Catchers are a usual sighting here but that doesn't stop us enjoying seeing and hearing them. They have a very distinctive call which the book describes as kleep kleep and that sounds about right. Much less common is the Thrush we saw when out dog walking this am. OH has started digging the hole for our new tree but most of the day it has been steady rain so he has stopped at the mo. Ended up at Simpsons Garden Centre again today for some bone meal and of course coffee, but no more trees although I did buy a spinner that I had been looking at for a while. This am it was coffee at Tiso (well deserved after a swim) and OH bought me a buff (multifunctional headwear) again I had been eyeing them up for ages (my friend has 13)
after 2 1/ days of no webcam OH finally sorted it out for me, so I have stopped my massive sulk
Lovely words Lindybird, They do look great together don' t they.

Super pic, Alan. I don't usually pick this page up, just the daily update one. Glad I did though.
LINDYBIRD your poems always make me smile' thank you so much. It is just what we all need after hearing of things like the BP disaster, the killing of those glorious birds and of course the election
