Hi all: Getting a late start here today. Been busy in the garden all day and now working on getting some of the glue out of the corners of the panes in the French door, so have back to computer.
Previous Weekly Chat's last page included long chatty posts from Lindybird and OG, a link from Djoan to the BOT Barn Owls, which have their first egg, and a colorful greeting from Diane to AQ who's having a birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY AQ! :-)
Came out clean, but smelling of tinned peaches!

jsb, sounds as if you are having a bad morning ! Sit down and have a rest and a coffee. I presume the 'tinned peaches' smell, is whatever you added for the final rinse.
Thanks for the Beeb clip Tiger, I don’t usually notice what’s happening on daytime tv (sorry, that sounds a bit pompous, not meant to be!) Glad you passed it on.
OG, I expect you had that tiny bit of rain that passed over us about 7 this morning? There’s only 0.05 in the gauge, no rain for 2 ½ weeks now. OH can’t do anyone’s lawns for moss because it will just go brown with no rain, and then he’ll be in trouble with his old ladies! Love your yellowhammer and greenfinch.
We have recently seen a pair of jays in our garden, Lindybird, hoping they are nesting nearby.
Happy birthday for tomorrow AQ, (think it is tomorrow with you!) You definitely need to sample ALL the cakes (then diet).
jsb, I won't be joining your ironing forum, not qualified.

No, nothing, rien, zilch, mind you they are peach coloured, so do they use dyes now that smell in sympathy.
jsb : I dont know if you have considered taking part in Extreme Ironing. It sounds like you could be quite good at it :)

Alan: Unwittingly I may have become a member already, as yesterday I took the opportunity of ironing in the garden. Curtains from line to board, a waft of high pressure steam as the iron blasted from end to end at high speed, wildlife startled and spectators applauding, curtains whisked upstairs and affixed to windows, with aplomb.

Good work on the nest calendar, Alan.
You could possibly include Site N at RW, the Kielder pair and the Dyfi site.
Currently only the female has returned to the Dyfi nest (don't seem to get much luck at that site, I hope a male appears pdq).
I've been struggling to find any updates on the Kielder pair.
Site N info is also a bit sketchy, and like at Site B, we might not know the exact laying dates because of a lack of a view directly into the nest cup.
Very late, I know, but thanks, Annette, for starting us off on a new week. Had very gentle rain this morning then a heavier shower during lunch – exactly what the garden needed. May be able to do grass treatment tomorrow. AQ – hope the Anzac tea gathering went well (sorry MiL isn’t very well) – and Very Happy Birthday for 26th when you wake up. Diane – agree weather looked bad for Steve yesterday – looks fine as he sets off now, but forecast said the tornados were heading East from Mississippi! Hope your storm didn’t turn nasty! Thanks for explanation about Pete’s Pond, I wondered where it had gone this time. Lindybird – did you have to remind me?! Need to do defrost and clean on our freezer too, before summer crops – ‘ though already freezing rhubarb. Snakes Head Fritillaries seem to be doing particularly well after the cold winter this year. Alan – thanks for progress chart – one update: Caerlaverock Osprey (unringed) laid her first egg Friday at 4.35pm TerryM – mentioned above, got some more, slightly heavier, rain at lunchtime – now sunny. jsb – ironing seems to be the second main occupation on this site - after Osprey watching! Hope you can live with the tinned peaches curtains!
Been catching up indoors today, but will go to church this evening. Final Finch from Mersehead - more watery subjects to follow.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Morning all:
Lindybird: Can't imagine doing a marathon - did jog at one point but hated that. Much prefer walking but not sure I could walk 26 miles. I imagine charity contestants get pledges from friends at so-much-per-mile, which is nice because every little bit helps. Pretty flower and yes, spotted the bee.
Alan: Great chart - once I got over the fact that days/months are in the reverse order to how we put them.
jsb: An ironing thread is just what we need since lots of complaints on the topic! Should we combine it with the "housework" thread? How about the "shopping mission" thread? :-))) If we include Extreme Ironing, we may make it to the next Olympics (but summer or winter? - probably summer since you've already done it al fresco!) How about ironing on skateboards? While skydiving? The mind boggles....Tinned pieaches? Hmmm. What will my new blue T-shirt smell of when I was it?
OK attack of the sillies over; off to watch morning political program....
