Weekly Chat, Sunday April 25, 2010

Hi all: Getting a late start here today. Been busy in the garden all day and now working on getting some of the glue out of the corners of the panes in the French door, so have back to computer.

Previous Weekly Chat's last page included long chatty posts from Lindybird and OG, a link from Djoan to the BOT Barn Owls, which have their first egg, and a colorful greeting from Diane to AQ who's having a birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY AQ!  :-)

  • Evening all, just returned from a concert in the local church by a choir called the Wordsworth Singers, of 20th century American choral music, Morten Lauridsen, Eric Whitacre, Samuel Barber etc. They're a very good choir and do some adventurous stuff, usually totally unaccompanied. I would compare them favourably with The Sixteen.  Was hoping to see the ISS again tonight (having seen it once I am now hooked) but it although clear to the north, it was complete cloud cover to the south so no joy.  Some stars were appearing after it would have gone over so I'm hopeful for midnight, if I can stay awake, otherwise there's tomorrow and all week!

I was pleased to see Odin had delivered a fish while I was out, about time too.

  • Paul: Thanks for the language explanation. As an editor, I love a language with no spelling rules! :-) Lovely goldfinch photo!

Annette: I hope the garage sale was a success. Do wish I could look at your side tables. I need one of an odd size to place beside my Dad's big chair. The one he has is too big and sticks out into the doorway. I have multiple bruises from hitting the corners.

OG: We always have storms this time of year, but this year the tornado threat has been bad throughout the country's midsection. We are under a tornado watch again as storms move in tonight. If lightening kicks out the electricity, my Dad's oxygen machine sounds an ear-piercing alarm, and I practically have to peel myself off of the ceiling. Sounds like EJ shrieking at an intruder. LOL Like Annette, sounds like you have been very busy. I admire all of your gardening skills.

Lindybird: Wonderful that your visit with the New Girlfriend was pleasant. Always better when family gets along. Maybe a wedding in your future? You'll have to consult with AQ. So glad that good Dog got a biscuit.

    Happy Sunday, everyone.
