Margobird : Sorry about the news from the doctors. Personally I never go to the docs in case they find something wrong with me.

Everyone else thanks for the swan photos, links and chat.

Speaking of doctors, had to get up early this morning as LadyP had a 9.00am appointment. Nothing serious just had to book ahead to get this particular doctor. Afterwards went on a shopping mission into the town and then off to the Walled Garden Centre in Elton for lunch. Home now and just taken the Thunderdog for a walk as it starts to rain. It has been a very warm and humid morning.

Off to catch up with the webcams now 

Hi Lindybird that is exactly what happened yesterday was moved from one area to another to wait.  Have spent a good part of my life hanging around in hospitals.  I think I have probably mentioned the problems I have with eyesight as well.  I used to have to visit Moorfields Eye Hospital in London once every fortnight and this went on for 13 years until they could do anything to help me.  Lost the sight in one eye completely and left with less than perfect sight in the other.  My Mum used to come with me and the hours she spent waiting are unbelievable.  We once went for a 2.00 appointment and came out with the evening visitors.  Not all that time was spent waiting it was just I had to see so many different consultants but it was very time consuming.

I don't even sit in the sun so somewhat bemused as to  why it keeps happening.  The worst thing about the treatment is having painkilling injections into the forehead.  Once that is done I relax.    My OH is dark skinned and tans very easily without any burning.

Not sure who came back to the nest as the picture froze but whoever they have gone again.

Margobird - Sorry about the hospital results. I have friends in the same position, one in particular can no longer sit in the sun while her husband just goes mahogany brown. Genes maybe?? My friend had auburn hair when young.

Thanks HeatherB I have had quite a few removed over the past 5 years, one on my back had to be treated by radiotherapy.  Last year alone I had 7 removed.  Perhaps it is genes although the consultant says I am very fair skinned and more prone even though I do not sit in the sun.  OH just goes brown as soon as the sun comes out.  I know auburn and red haired people have to be careful too. 

I am rather late today, but wanted to say Happy Birthday to DjoanS.  Also just caught up with your news Margo and to sympathise with you. You really must be 'fed up' with the situation. You must wish that when they tell you that you need treatment, that they would just deal with it  and get it over with.

Good afternoon Brenda.  I do feel a bit fed up today I must admit, it seems never ending.  After last year I had hoped this was the last of it but not to be unfortunately.  I have just had a call from the hospital with a date for my treatment.  I have delayed until after Venice and also my Great Nephew's christening on May 23.  It will done on June 8 and I don't know whether they will deal with all them or not.  In a way I hope they do them all and I will just have to grit my teeth when they are putting the injections in to deaden my forehead.  This is the most unpleasant part of it.  I will forget about it for now and look forward to Venice and the christening.

DjoanS -    somehow missed hearing about your Birthday until I found other people wishing you well - so belated Happy Birthday wishes from me too.

Margobird - sorry that you have to have skin surgery again - but at least you knew it was likely, so it wasn't a shock to be told.  Amazed that you have been able to choose when to have it done!

Been sowing some annuals direct into the garden as I didn't raise so many from seed in the greenhouse this year.  OH has done the grass treatment.  Must get some more done outside now having just had  acoffee break.

Raining here now, so no chance of gardening. Tidying up the house ready for the weekend. Came down this morning to find perfect dusty looking imprint of a bird with one wing outstretched, on the kitchen window. It must have flown into the glass either in the dark or the early morning light. Quite a big bird, so perhaps a pigeon, as we have those and also some doves here.  No sign of a victim so it must have survived the shock.

Thank you to everyone for your birthday wishes ... and to Diane and auntie for your very creative 'cards' ... everyone is so nice on this site! We had a lovely, leisurely lunch and then a drive round the countryside to see the signs of Spring ... a very late Spring round here!
