Hi all: Getting a late start here today. Been busy in the garden all day and now working on getting some of the glue out of the corners of the panes in the French door, so have back to computer.
Previous Weekly Chat's last page included long chatty posts from Lindybird and OG, a link from Djoan to the BOT Barn Owls, which have their first egg, and a colorful greeting from Diane to AQ who's having a birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY AQ! :-)
I'm back again.............I've been AWOL because I've actually been sleeping in the early morning for a change.
I have seen black swans in the UK (can't just remember where they were though)
I have to make a decision ............ I'm having the paving in the back garden relaid and levelled - so do I spend on building a small conservatory so I can sit and enjoy the garden even if it is a bit cool and damp - which will mean that the bathroom improvements have to wait a while longer. I can't do the bathroom immediately as it means enlarging the room ............I don't want to lose the bath but need a separate shower. If only house building was as easy as bringing a few sticks and moss.
Not a nice morning here, we have had some nice bright days though.
Morning all, and Hi Ginnie. I would build the conservatory, we have one and spend ages in it watching the birds and other goings on. You might be surprised how much time you can spend in there, even in winter.
Thanks to AQ for great black swan pics, they are dramatic arn't they?
Dull day here again but not too cold considering its only April.
Have a Good Day, All.
Morning all Just a passing visit as I've decided the only way to get done all the things which are crying out for attention is to start at the beginning (most urgent!) and then .......
Ginnie When we decided we needed a downstairs bathroom we went the whole way and had a sort of 'en suite' room built, with french doors for added visibility. It's a bright, pleasant place which looks onto the back garden and the new woodland behind, so we have the best of both worlds.
Since you liked AQ's black swans so much, here's one of mine for you.
Smiles, Jan.
Wattle 15 Wow that is great.
BTW we had two black swans in Regent's Park London. I must have a look for them and see if I can photograph them.

Thanks Wattle. What a handsome bird!
Morning all.
AQ and Wattle 15 - love the black swan photos! The only place I have seen them is Washington Waterfowl Park ... and they are beautiful birds.
Off out for lunch ... OH treating me for my birthday today!
Hi Ginnie ... I'd go for the conservatory ... love mine ... spend hours watching the birds in the garden ... just like being in a hide!

Good Thursday morning all. Busy day today – man coming to discuss possible new boiler, and it’s our cleaner’s day too. Good you’re still with us, Emma – we know you are busier than we retired folks, with your job and family. Annette – really ashamed of our Prime Minister’s clumsy “style”, but I guess politicians are the same the world over - and in that line of work “foot in mouth” errors must be very easy. AQ – glad you had good Mother and Daughter time yesterday – and hope you enjoyed the meal out with OH and the “updo”. Lovely swan pictures. Annette – I think the black Swans in the UK are all descended from Australian birds. Ginnie – welcome back! I personally am not a fan of conservatories, maybe because of Dau#1 having two of them – both hardly used except to store overflow from house! Only time we sat in one of hers was when SiL had a birthday party and the kids wanted to watch DVDs so all the adults crowded into the conservatory! I would go for bath/shower room update any time. So, it’s really a matter of taste and which you most need. Patriciat – hope your busy day is productive and satisfying! Wattle – super picture! Lovely bird and great photography! Here's one of black and white swans together - taken in 2006, can't remember where!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Good morning original goldfinch, lovely photo of black and white swants together.
We have had a light shower of rain this morning with more to follow I think but the garden really needs it as it about 4 weeks since any rain fell.
Prime Minister's gaff not good, having watched all the news that lady did not ask anything than a lot of people would ask. The clip of him with his head in his hands just about summed it up really. I know it must be stressful but really he should curb that side of his self.
Have a good day.
