I think I will start MAY, 2016 quite simply with a current snippet of the LOCH GARTEN NEST with EJ quietly incubating her three eggs.
Willow, lookslike you are catching up. YOU HAVE BEEN MISSED, especially as Keith was away at the same time and Gardenbirder was silent, so I was all alone. Glad to have y'all back, so we can rejoice together.
Good evening all. Just read the news that Odin and EJ have a new chick. Very happy news specially as no chicks last year (happy!)
Been aweay to Devon in borrowed camper van brilliant. We were camping in Buckfastleigh when an osprey was spotted according to Alans sightings thread! We didnt see it though
Willow, glad you have been away having a good time. With all those "likes" I was expecting to hear from you momentarily. :)
Rejoicing indeed June :) Such good news and may they have a good year with plenty of fish. They have the best parents :)
Announcement of the new arrival was made several hours ago on The Main Blog. It is short but interesting. I was glad to hear the brief news of Richard.
Have not yet read the blog but will do so! Just read also that Manton Bay have 2 chicks now! 2 in one day :) The day gets better and better now must look around the other news!
Great news about the new chicks at Rutland and Loch Garten.
June, I have not contributed much lately because of other distractions--nothing serious, fortunately, but time was taken up with several visits to dentists and doctors and there is more of the same next week. But I look forward to another week of holiday in a few week's time, though not to anywhere we might see Ospreys, sadly--that will come later in the summer when we go to Rutland Water.
Keith, I look forward to your on-the-spot report when you are able to visit a few nests up in Scotland.
Willow, Are you going to Rutland this year?
Kind regards, Ann
Both photos from Facebook yesterday afternoon (Saturday) Uhoh, even here it is now Monday. :) 12.03
I just had the pleasure of watching EJ feed Chick #1. She was quite restless, looking underneath facing away. Then she got up and fed the little one, who ate heartily.
Now I could be wrong, I most always am here (seriously), but I had the strong feeling that we now have 2 babies. When Chick #1 had eaten its fill and lay down I thought I could see the second one behind where the first had been standing. But with the poor quality of the picture I am getting, I could be sure of nothing.
