Last month we started the thread off with egg watch, this month it is hatch watch. Will it be two years in a row with three beautiful chicks on this nest, well it won't be long until we find out.

Hi Pat. The first egg was laid on 12th April. This is only Lassies second year here so not a lot to compare but last year laying to hatch for egg 1 was 37 days or so. Therefore I would think the eggs would begin to hatch around 20th May.
On the whole Laddie and Lassie have taken good care of the eggs so no reason to think that they are not viable. However in Lady's (previous much loved female incumbent at this nest) last couple of years her eggs were less viable and latterly not viable but she was a very dear old lady by that time and had fledged I think 50 chicks from 71 eggs over 25 years. Quite remarkable
Lassie quietly incubating.
Birdies LG DU update.
Good Morning Mike and Everyone when you get here

Good morning all
A quiet morning weatherwise, Lassie has been turning quite regularly yesterday and again this morning, maybe she hear her chicks beginning to move.
Could not resist this famous look!!!
A warning dash to somebody, but soon back.
Oooh Kate, that odd view gave me a start there, thought it was an egg splitting open & wondered why no flurry of excitement!!

BBC report on the intruder incident at LotL. The intruders were human, not the feathered variety.
