A new month and lots to look forward to as we eagerly await these precious eggs which Maya and Blue 33(11) have devotedly protected, hatch!
For anyone new and just starting to watch the Rutland Manton Bay Webcam, here is a brief summary of the 2016 season so far:
The resident female, Maya returned 21 March. Her mate Blue 33(11) returned 27 March. Maya has laid three eggs, #1 on 4 April, #2 on 7 April and #3 on 10 April. Maya and 33(11) are currently sharing incubating duties and we should see a hatch around the second week in May.
Happy viewing
Feed Difficult to see who is getting each piece as Maya blocking view but certainly chick on L getting some and I think the middle chick Can't tell about the third
ROP
Looks like the feed is over Maya tidying Chicks asleep in a huddle
They won't fit under her now
Chicks alone just now but I expect Maya and 33 are not far away. Starting to look out to the world before them :-)
As I type Maya returns and then 33 follows with a fish which Maya takes. Maya starts eating, chicks not too interested but then one joins her and 33 flies off as she starts feeding
