A new month and lots to look forward to as we eagerly await these precious eggs which Maya and Blue 33(11) have devotedly protected, hatch!
For anyone new and just starting to watch the Rutland Manton Bay Webcam, here is a brief summary of the 2016 season so far:
The resident female, Maya returned 21 March. Her mate Blue 33(11) returned 27 March. Maya has laid three eggs, #1 on 4 April, #2 on 7 April and #3 on 10 April. Maya and 33(11) are currently sharing incubating duties and we should see a hatch around the second week in May.
Happy viewing
Another check.

some captures of the change over ..... Maya arrrives
Maya looks towards 33, she wants back on the eggs :-)
33 rises and takes off
Maya carefully inspects the eggs and then takes over incubating
Fantastic!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
No fish, instead 33 arrives with a stick and prances around a bit.
Maya flies off and 33 takes over incubating.
Got to feel a little for 33 as he loves his turn on the eggs. Poor wee soul, his days are numbered.
Looks like 33 on the eggs on another nice morning in the bay.
Birdies LG DU update.
33 just given the eggs a turn and settled again.
Morning Mike
