It looks like a snow free old wise lady on the nest, It is nice to see EJ not coved with the white stuff.
With about 14 days to hopefully to the first of her eggs hatching, lets hope that the snow stays away.
How elegant she looks in black and white.

Blimey - the tracking suggests he came to land very close to me!! Wouldn't it be great if one of the points confirmed a Suffolk landfall?
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

Only yesterday, I swear to you and all, I was resisting wondering aloud why we haven't had any zooms so far this season. Because we never get to see EJ's "features" or feathers :'(
Before I saw your post, CLARE, I was belatedly doing some snaps of the changeover. No close-ups of EJ.

Good morning PATILY (ladies first) and MIKE :-)
I think that EJ's chirps could be called "fish-calling", but they're very restrained.
Morning all. Thank you Limpy for starting the day, and to Scylla and all for the early posts and pics.
EJ just turned the eggs and had a little chatter.

EJ is calling
The calling petered out. EJ is still alert and looking out for Odin.
Good morning everyone. Thank you for the early posts especially the ones of a very frosty EJ. At least there wasn't any more snow. I am sure Odin will try to fish. He did well yesterday thank goodness.
Odin's here but I can't see if he's standing with a fish yet. It could be a repeat of yesterday, wouldn't that be nice? ;-_
Here's Odin fishless.........and flown.
