Weekly Chat (Non-Osprey), 3 April 2016

HAPPY NEW WEEK!

Last week's Chat thread is here. Check back, because there were a lot of new, long posts at the end of the thread.

Everyone have a wonderful week!

  • ANNETTE - So can I get your autograph? Don't suppose that there is any way that we could see you in the flesh, LOL.

Yes, I can understand why people would want to avoid a bunch of children. It was just that I could almost read their minds, as they came in - their facial expressions told all. Even Sam, who has his problems, is very well behaved and quiet at table. On our most recent canal boating holiday with him, the same thing happened in the canal side pubs/restaurants.

I'm not quite sure whether MARGO is reading this or not, but just to say, hang in there xx I take it that your OH is at home?

Things in France are still pretty bad. I honestly don't know what will happen. No car, no money.

OG - I'm a bit concerned. Hope that you are feeling better. maybe just taking a break from here, as we all do from time to time.

I've just looked at my diary and realised that there are eight family birthdays before the end of May. I had conveniently forgotten that this is the very most expensive time of the year:-(((

  • Don't worry - I'm doing well!  Osprey watching online.  Getting back to "normal duties" in house and garden, and attending necessary appointments (hair today, bloods tomorrow)!  I am reading, but not remembering much at the mo - still got a foggy head!  I may not be around every day when stuff is going on, but will be a low-key poster rather than a complete lurker!

Best wishes to all, especially MARGO, if she has the energy to look in.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Good evening, I can't believe I have just written out a post and somehow lost it!

Now I haven't the energy to type it all out again.

I have been busy with work, by time I've walked the dog, cleaned up, cooked the dinner, then updated myself on the goings on with the Ospreys, I'm ready for my bed.

I have managed to sit through 'inside Obama's white house' how he tried to reshape America, interesting.

Its lovely to read all your news.

I wanted to send best wishes to Margo also after hearing she is not feeling too good.

Annette, Brenda, Diane, Heather, Lindy, OG and others I may have forgotten, Goodnight everyone.

  • Glad you're 'doing well', as you have called it, OG!  Best to be a low-key poster whilst everything is an effort. Hope having the hair done helps make you feel better.

Annette - My OH always gets out of bed if Bonnie starts scratching and whining.  I just turn over in bed!  She has been a little better behaved lately, but partly because we've learned to always be one step ahead of her!

Heather - Sorry the news from France has been somewhat bad. Of course you care about them, but it cannot be your problem, too.

We got home somewhat weary this afternoon, although we had a good journey back. I cooked something from the freezer and  then we sat to sort out our bits of mail.  Going to bed now before I get too tired to sleep, if you know what I mean.

  • Tina - We've all done that sometime.  So annoying.

    Goodnight.

  • Just been catching up on all your news.

Brenda - thanks for letting us know about Margo and that she is going through the mill a bit.  Thinking of her.

OG - glad to see you are nearly back to normal and that Lindybird - your cough has cleared up. Annette- do hope yours dissipates soon. Mine seems to be less now and I think it is gradually going.

Went to the gym and did a few lengths and then went to our fortnightly Womens Own group.  Had an interesting speaker who stood in at the last minute for the speaker who should have been with us.  He was talking and showing slides about his recent visit to the Holy Land. Not the usual touristy spots but quieter ones where the Lord may have been. He really made it seem real.

  • Margo – Keep on fighting those infections. Hugs & healing thoughts sent.

    .

Heather – One of our dinners out was spoilt by a loud-mouth older male trying to impress a younger woman. There are times when I wish I was a ventriloquist!

    .

Annette – Heather has beaten me to it. I was going to ask for your autograph.

    .

OG – That’s a slow lingering bug. Get well soon.

    .

Lynette – Non-tourist spots are always more interesting. That’s why I don’t mind getting lost, well, not too lost.

    .

Linda – I couldn’t resist the challenge [or rather I’ve got cabin fever & nothing better to do]. Found the ”Rhyming Dictionary”, bought long ago in a mad moment. It suggests either dirl, skirl OR bharal, scurrile, squirrel, conferral, deferral, demurral, referral, transferral.

    .

OH came home very tired from his 3-ish hours nanny duty last eve. He keeps hoping I shall be better soon but I’m in no hurry to resume. He trailed after me round food shop yesterday, hating every minute. If I try to ask what he would like to eat, he doesn’t know. <sigh> I thought about catching bus to local library today but it is raining, maybe Friday when dry as there is a walk to bus stops both ends.

  • Evening all: Warm here today - and tomorrow - but two storms heading our way and maybe even a third!  Amazing.

Heather: Sorry things in France are still rocky, but at this point you probably wouldn't expect anything different. Eight family birthdays so close?  Bad planning if you ask me!  :-))

OG: Ease into those "normal duties." Glad you're feeling better.

Tina: Join the "where did my post go?" club.

Lindybird: Welcome home.  Hope Bonnie lets your OH sleep in.

Lynette: Nice that your fill-in speaker delivered an interesting talk.

AQ: I would keep any improvement to your wrist a secret (just tell us).   Re autographs, take a number!  :-))

    Margo:  Best thoughts for you.

    Have a good Wednesday everyone.

  • Good Morning.  Dry but cloudy here - was disappointed to hear that it's going to be colder again for this week, after its been so Springlike.

Heather - went to lunch on Sunday and the whole of a quite large dining area had to put up with a very loud man booming his conversation. All the children present at the time (all ages) were impeccably behaved.

Annette - meant to say, hope all this fame doesn't spoil you! LOL!  My OH did indeed get a bit of a lie in today.

Hope you can enjoy your small break from nannying, AQ.  Must say, that when my OH comes food shopping he hates it, and prowls around the shop. When I get bored with being the instigator of our menus, I ask him what I should buy, and he says "Oh, you choose....."  or "Pork Chops!"  Aaaarrgh!

  • I can see that I'll have to put pen to paper and write about Cyril, now........;-)
